I WILL SEE THE PROMISES

Promises have a time to be fulfilled and dreams have a time to be manifested. The eyes were made by God so you can see better, and by His grace, you will see His blessings and you will see better things in your life; the ears were made by God to hear and by His grace, you have been hearing many promises and will soon hear better things that concerns you that will also change your life for good. God made the mouth to speak, and by His grace, you will speak what God had done and you will testify of His goodness in your life to as many that will come to you. All the years of your hiding behind the curtains in your corner are fast passing out and the year of glory that you have been waiting for, praying for and seeking with all diligence is fast coming. There are many things that you have come to know in life and you are desperately waiting for; there are many things you are working to attain; there are many things you are learning and are engaged with to improve your life. By God’s grace you will soon see the result of your expectations.

Up until today, many Christians had been hearing promises and many had been waiting for the fulfilments of those promises; many had been praying and many had been expecting; many had experienced great adversities and many had lost so much, but despite all that had been, that had past and some that are still existing today, the announcement from the throne of grace is that you will begin seeing the goodness of the Lord God Almighty in the land of the living.

The shepherds in the bush that night were men who had heard of the coming of the Messiah and had been with that expectation for a while. Because they have heard, they began expecting with an open heart to see what was written in the Holy Scripture; their expectation was far beyond what they were usually doing in the bush, far beyond just gathering together and keeping sheep at night in the forest, and far beyond just talking about it. They were waiting for the coming and the fulfilment of the messiah of mankind as was promised in the Holy Scriptures, and on that beautiful night, the angels told them go and you will see Him that you have been expecting. You will see your expectations of the promises of God fulfilled as the shepherds saw that night. Time is not against you and situations will not prevent you. God had promised and God will do it.

Simeon was a righteous man living with a great expectation of seeing the birth of our Lord Jesus in his lifetime. Despite the passage of time, he never gave up with his expectation and never lost hope in that expectation. At the very end, he saw his expectations fulfilled and testified joyfully this way: “At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32

Anna, another woman who never gave up never lost hope and never allowed her situation to deter her determination also saw and testified: “Anna, a prophet, was also there in the Temple. She was the daughter of Phanuel from the tribe of Asher, and she was very old. Her husband died when they had been married only seven years. Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer. She came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she began praising God. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38. She lived in her expectation and definitely saw expectations fulfilled. Mary Magdalene told Peter I have seen the lord. That was a result of holding unto a promise, staying on the promise and determination to see the promise fulfilled.
