SARAH WAS WRONG A THOUSAND TIMES

Post date: Apr 7, 2016 10:39:10 PM

Though Sarah was tired believing and waiting on God for Isaac, she never gave up hope, never gave up believing and never gave up on Abraham. Though patience in waiting drove her to being angry and jealous with people, mostly her maids, she never gave up forgiveness, obedience, the company of her husband and reconciliation with the people. After staying many years with just one request in her heart, in her prayers, thoughts and her lips all days and all nights, after waiting on her expectation without doubts of its possibility Sarah became frustrated but not discouraged, sad but not humiliated, strong and resolute ; Sarah became physically exhausted in waiting and in trying to help God, ashamed at her age and patience, exhausted in believing on that particular promise without seeing it fulfilled, exhausted in hope and exhausted in talking about it again to anyone, and an one unexpected day with three visiting angels sitting with her husband under a tree shade outside their tent home, Sarah heard the unexpected news about what she had counted herself out of contention and considered impossible. It was an unexpected news at an unexpected moment with the unexpected group of people. “So Sarah laughed to herself when she heard the Lord’s words, saying, after I have become old, shall I have pleasure and delight, my husband being also old? And the Lord asked Abraham, why did Sarah laugh, saying, shall I really give birth when I am so old?’ Is anything too difficult or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season comes, I will return to you and Sarah will have a son.” Genesis 18:12-14

Sarah did not laugh at the visiting angels but at the unexpected words they were saying to her at that unexpected moment, God will give you an unexpected news like that of Sarah. She thought in her mind that they should never go on that area of her life, but she was totally wrong, that was God’s point of interest in her, God wanted to restore her heart and hope back to Him; she thought in her mind they should never remind her of the things she was trying her best forget, again, she was wrong, though she was trying to forget the promise, God did not forget her, due to delays in your life you may try forgetting some of God’s promises to you, but God will never forget you or forget any of His promises to you; she thought they should not take her mind back to the past she is trying manage with pains till the day that God will call her home, but she was wrong again in those thoughts, because the promise was for her to fulfill and no one else. Sarah laughed because she knew what they were talking about, but she never knew what God was thinking about; she laughed because she knew her current age and condition of her body, but she never knew the condition of her body can only hinder or limit her and not God; she laughed because she knew she had tried all that was humanly possible at her disposal without success, but she never knew that were men had failed, God will never fail and when He steps in, the next move will definitely be a resounding success; she laughed because she had seen the result of all her previous efforts but she was wrong because she will be amazed by the result of her next effort through obedience, acceptance of the words of God and the restoration of heart back to the Almighty God; Sarah laughed because she knew Abraham was old and she was equally old to consider the possibility of being able to conceive but she was wrong because she never knew old age only limits men and not God. How wrong have you been in your thoughts on the promises that God had given to you because of what you know, have seen and was told? Sarah was tired believing God for Isaac; she was tired believing she will see and handle Isaac.

Considering Sarah and her husband’s age and the number of years they had waited she thought it was all over, but she was wrong in such thinking; looking at her physical body, she concluded it was impossible, but she was wrong again. Unknown to her was the knowledge that God will do whatever He had promised irrespective of age and the number of demons standing to fight and to resist; He will complete that which He had started through the salvation of your soul.
