WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Not until you acknowledge yourself and what you have, the acknowledgement of others will not impress and profit you and you will not be able to set goals and attend them. Not until you appreciate yourself, you will never come out of self-pity, self-rejection and gloominess. Not until you acknowledge what you have, and make appropriate use of them, you will never experience your dreamed increase. In life, God sets you up with unparalleled gifts and potentials; your duty is to discover, appreciate and develop them until others notice them in you and follow you. People will not admire, appreciate, acknowledge and follow you if you fail to do it to yourself.

Believing in Christ Jesus has tremendous spiritual and physical benefits, but you will have to act accordingly in the physical to enjoy the benefits of the spiritual grace. Christianity transforms and remolds all aspects of her followers. Affects the way we look at ourselves and other, the way we appreciate our services and talents, the way we carry ourselves each day and everywhere in every situation. Christianity changes everything in the lives of everyone who wholly embraces her truth and walk in her principles as Christ Jesus showed the way. In Christianity, it is what God says that is supreme, not what you think or what the people say or what the devil does.

Look at this scripture “Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, what shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, there is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest”. 2 Kings 4:1-7

A widow who was faced with growing family debt and the desire of her creditors to take her and her two sons as bondmen because of her inability to fulfill the obligation of redeeming the debts. To her disadvantage, this woman only recognized four things in her life. (1). She was a widow. (2). She inherited a family debt she couldn’t pay off. (3). Her creditors were aggressive against her. (4). Elisha can pay the debt for her or talk to the creditors.

Elijah only asked her to recognize and use what she already had to change her situation. Did you know that the things you fail to recognize in your life might be the things that will bring your dreamed turn around? Those things you think are irrelevant are very important. This woman never recognized that God had already placed a pot of oil in her home that had all the answers to her debts, sorrows, worries, cries and family problem. The day you stop using, improving, and investing in what you already have, that day you begin to lose its relevance and benefits.

Don’t wait until someone appreciates you before you appreciate yourself. Don’t wait until someone acknowledges your potentials before you develop them. If you fail in believing your God and his gift in you, you will fail those who are looking up to you, will never reach your fullness and will never be satisfied in life. Begin with what you already have and the miracle you expect will follow. What do you have? Please, use them from now.
