DO WHAT YOU TOLD ME OH LORD (2)

Job was a man who saw and enjoyed God’s blessings; a man who saw and suffered the cruelty of Satan, the envy of Satan, and wickedness from hell; a man who lived to see, enjoy, experience, and talk about the restoration of the Almighty God in his life. One thing was certain in the life of Job, he was a man who loved God in all seasons, and in all situations. He was a man of prayers, a man who talked about God at all times; humbled himself before God always; respected God in all his ways, uphold the word of God in his own life and in his ways and directed his thoughts, steps, and mind according to God’s word. In all his ways despite his pains and suffering, we know that Job never failed to keep himself according to God’s word and at the end, we see God restoring him beyond what he was according to His plans and words for him.

These are the comforting words of Job even in his bitterness, pains, and suffering about himself and the God he trusts and looks up to. “Today also my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy on account of my groaning. Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, that I might come even to His seat. I would lay my case before Him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know what He would answer me and understand what He would say to me. Would He contend with me in the greatness of His power? No, He would pay attention to me. There an upright man could argue with Him, and I would be acquitted forever by my judge. Behold, I go forward, but He is not there, and backward, but I do not perceive Him; on the left hand when He is working, I do not behold Him; He turns to the right hand, but I do not see Him. But He knows the way that I take; when He has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and have not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my portion of food. But He is unchangeable and who can turn Him back? What He desires, that He does. For He will complete what He appoints for me, and many such things are in His mind. Therefore I am terrified at his presence; when I consider, I am in dread of Him. God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me, yet I am not silenced because of the darkness, nor because thick darkness covers my face.” Job 23:1-17.

God did not abandon Job despite what Satan did, what Job went through in life; what people said, and what they did to him personally. God will not abandon you, He will fulfill what He had said; what He planned, and what He had destined for your life. You will live o see them; you will live to enjoy them, and you will live to celebrate all of them. Job was bitter with his situation but did not give up on God or look for alternative ways to please himself or settle his life. He depended on God and kept himself following God’s commands and ways. People were disappointed in his suffering but Job did not end up as a disappointment in life.
