"DEAR LORD, I SAY AMEN (1)"

Post date: Jun 24, 2018 12:00:02 PM

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber briefly nor sleep soundly. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in everything that you do from this time forth and forever” Psalms 121:1-8

When we say amen to our God and to His words, we mean to let it be as You have said and as You have concluded. We do not say to evil expectations but to good expectations and plans, we say amen to the things that will bring us joy and happiness, we say to the things of hope and the things of our desires, we say amen to the promises and words of God and when we say amen, we mean God do it exactly as had been said and concluded by you. It is not a word that expresses fear or doubts, but hope and greater expectation in agreement to the good things to come. As you say amen to the words and promises of God for your life despite what you have seen, the Lord will do it for you and He will honor His words and His plans for your life.

Amen is a language of faith expressed in agreement and not in an argument. It is a word of affirmation to a prayer, to a desire and to a request. It expresses expectation, dependence, and trust in the result that will follow soon. God has a plan for you and for every one of us and to that plan, we say Amen. That is because His ways are perfect and His plans are the best for us despite what we see, what we hear, what we are experiencing and our sorrows and pains. Despite the evidence of our sorrows and pains, frustrations and disappointments, failures and shame and any kind of discouragement we are having right now, God has a plan and is able to take us through all of them; He is able to keep us safe even in our darkest moments and in the most dangerous we will ever find ourselves; He is able to deliver us from our most powerful and dangerous enemies, and He is able to restore and bless us beyond words.

The God we serve is the same God who kept Daniel safe in the den of lions and delivered him alive and unharmed thereafter to the amazement of those planning his death. The God we serve is the God who kept Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego safe in the furnace of fire and delivered them alive from the hands of their powerful enemy Nebuchadnezzar and from those wishing and watching to celebrate their destruction. The God we serve is the God who kept Job, delivered Job and restored Job seven times better than what he was before. To the plans of our God for our lives and our future, we say Amen. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you, says the Lord. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” Jeremiah 29:11-14

This is His plans: “But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.” Isaiah 43:1-4. For prayer Click here
