I SEE FOUR MEN UNBOUND

“Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me.” John 14:1. Christians all over the world are troubled in many ways and by many things; physically disturbed by situations that are beyond their control, and they are constantly challenged by men, by family, by finances, by Satan, in their workplace and profession and by almost everything else at all times, yet in all of these things, we are commanded to be confident in our God, in Jesus Christ our Lord, in His words, and confident in His promises based on His love for us, His unending mercies, and His everlasting faithfulness to those who put their confidence and hope in him always. Jesus Christ demanded confidence from His disciples, He demands confidence from you also, and from all of His believers and followers irrespective of their location, situation, and confronting challenges in their lives. It is very certain that we will face various challenges at all times, and it is also certain that God will help us, and deliver us from all the challenges, and give us the grace we will ever need to overcome them and the blessings to have the life He had promised.

Your confidence is paramount, it is needful, and the devil fears it. One time, Jesus accompanied His disciples on a journey and they were faced with challenges that were about to destroy them and they had to turn to Him. “As evening fell, Jesus said to His disciples, let’s cross to the other side of the lake. So they took Him just as He was and started out, leaving the crowds behind though other boats followed. But soon a terrible storm arose. High waves began to break into the boat until it was nearly full of water and about to sink. Jesus was asleep at the back of the boat with His head on a cushion. Frantically they wakened Him, shouting, teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to drown? Then He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, quiet down and the wind fell, and there was a great calm. And He asked them, why were you so fearful? Don’t you even yet have confidence in me? And they were filled with awe and said among themselves, who is this man, that even the winds and seas obey Him?” Mark 4:35-41

The disciples of Jesus Christ following His command were challenged and almost overwhelmed by the wind and the flood. But Christ was there with them and demanded their confidence. You have believed in God; you have accepted Jesus Christ as your only Lord and Savior; you have repented and confessed your sins to God with the determination not to go back to them; you have vowed to be His own in words and deeds; you have followed Him all these days, trusted His word, and promises, in return, in His love and mercy, has forgiven all past sins and wrong deeds, has given you His seal of love, power, and Holy Spirit to lead, instruct, keep, and also guide you. Now you will need to grow in your confidence in His words and promises; grow in your faith in knowing Him and His Word, and grow in His amazing grace. Your confidence in the Almighty God is needed at all times, in all situations, and in every moment of your challenges in your life.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego though they submitted themselves to King Nebuchadnezzar, refused to bow to his god and were physically confident in their faith in the living God and declared the same before Nebuchadnezzar, and before the crowd waiting and watching to see them die in the fire, but God in His response to Nebuchadnezzar’s threat did not put off the fire, did not dismantle the furnace, and did not openly disgrace Nebuchadnezzar but showed up physically for all to see and acknowledge His power.

This is Nebuchadnezzar’s confession; “Didn’t we throw three men into the furnace? Yes, they said, we did indeed, your Majesty. Look, Nebuchadnezzar shouted, I see four men unbound, walking around in the fire, and they aren’t even hurt by the flames. And the fourth looks like a god. Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the open door of the flaming furnace and yelled, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out, come here. So they stepped out of the fire.” Daniel 3:24-26. For prayers, Click here
