“PETER'S UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER WITH DESTINY”

Post date: May 18, 2018 3:48:46 AM

God wants to distinguish you from the crowd of believers and from the crowd of followers; He wants to separate you from others, He wants to you go higher, to come closer to Him, to have more understanding and more knowledge, He wants you to have more grace and more of His Holy Spirit. There is something more that God wants you to know, there are greater things He wants to tell you and to show you and to use for in this very life. God is not limiting you and never let adversities limit you or anything or anyone to limit you. His upward grace abounds for your upward glory forever and His mercies never cease to be operational in the lives of all His obedient and faithful children. Remember that the heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool and he can do what pleases Him always and everywhere. “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge. How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways. For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever.” Romans 11:33-36

Peter came to know Jesus Christ as the Messiah through his Jewish knowledge of the Scriptures; he came to follow Jesus Christ through a personal invitation by Jesus Christ when he was with his father in the boat fishing; he was among the disciples and followers and he needed to be distinguished and separated from others. A day when things had to change and that day came through a question by Christ to all the disciples. Do not run away from challenges, it is meant to destroy you but to strengthen you, to separate you from others, to lift you higher above your peers and to place you where God had destined for you in life. When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, who do people say that the Son of Man is? Well, they replied, some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets. Then he asked them, but who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered; you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Jesus replied, you are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. Now I say to you that you are Peter, which means rock, and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell[g] will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. Then he sternly warned the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.”Matthew 16:13-20

Men’s opinions will always be wrong but the word of God will never be wrong even when we misunderstood them, misuse them, or misinterpret them. in all things, do not rely on human opinion, do not hold the words and knowledge of men above the word of God and do not surrender your life to what people say and do. Give it completely to God and rely on Him for He will direct your ways and ake you and prove His words in your life. Do you still believe in Him or are you still holding the opinions of men about your life and future above His words and promises?  Who do you submit yourself to? What adversity in your life is taking control of your thoughts and emotions everyday? Whose idea is supreme to you? Are you in God’s hands or in the hands of men? “As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, if you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. Peter did not tell Christ what men said, but what He knew and what He believed and the reply from Christ was the destiny God had intended for Him. For prayers, Click here
