HAVE YOU CONSIDERED MY SERVANT JOB?

“There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who reverently feared God and abstained from and shunned evil because it was wrong.” Job 1:1. That was outstanding, and God openly brag about him even before His greatest enemy and the greatest enemy of all human being, Satan called the devil. It was not Job’s wealth, thoughts or charity that attracted God’s attention, it was his absolute believe in God and his consistent actions to please God and not self. There are many Christians today who are focused on pleasing self while using the name our Lord Jesus Christ instead of pleasing God.

Though unexpected and a surprise, God truly meant what He said on that occasion to the devil. That was a thunderbolt that the devil could not ignore paying attention to and engaging God in a serious conversation. The devil was unprepared for such encounter; he was taken unaware, and was out to fully contest it out with God, to prove his assumed ability and determination in doing evil. Just as the devil failed before that faithful day of divine encounter with God concerning Job, his business and his family, he will also fail in yours. It is worthy to note that Job was earlier marked for destruction before this day by the devil, but though Satan tried, God did prevent him, God did preserve Job in all his ways in return, preserve his family and preserve his business. It is also worthy to note that Job did not practice righteousness because God had given him protection and prosperity. He practiced righteousness because he truly believed in God and great worked in the fear of the God he believed in everything.

Have you considered my servant Job was not a joking statement from God. Just like the salvation that God had given to you, God will never joke over your destiny and will never change it for anything else to anyone. He will never joke over your peace and the blessings He has promised you; He will never joke over anything that concerns your life and your joy now and in the nearest future. What God meant by that statement to the devil was, despite all the strength you claim to have, all the wisdom you claim to have, all the wickedness you can do and all the evil things around you, there is still someone out there whom you cannot touch, whom you cannot destroy, whom you cannot win over, and whom you cannot stop, except by my permission.

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan the adversary and accuser also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, from where did you come? Then Satan answered the Lord, from going to and fro on the earth and from walking up and down on it. And the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who reverently fears God and abstains from and shuns evil because it is wrong? Then Satan answered the Lord, Does Job reverently fear God for nothing? Have You not put a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have conferred prosperity and happiness upon him in the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face. And the Lord said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon the man himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.” Job 1:6-12

Considering what you are doing, can God depend on you, brag about you, or privately talk good about you to other? Can you say with all assurance that God will defend in it? Though Job was not aware of what God was doing behind him, Job spent days in making his path right, keeping his family in good standing with God through prayers, and keeping his business free from the corruption of his time. One thing is sure, God will not talk about your evil past, He does not keep evil, He only talks of the good you are doing. For prayersClick here
