THINGS GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW (No. 02)

“For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? Ecclesiastes 7:12-13. There are great benefits in knowledge and the more you know, the better you will become to yourself and to those around you. God does not want you to be ignorant about Himself, about Jesus Christ His only begotten Son and our only Lord and Savior, about His plans, about His words, and about His ways in getting things done right. Every step that God wants you to follow in order to fulfill His plans according to His words is with a better reward than the previous ways you desire or the ways of men irrespective of it demands and the sufferings. The more you know of God the more He will know you and the better you will be in everywhere and the more He will reveal His secrets to you. There are secrets in life that no human knowledge and wisdom will be able to unravel except God reveals them and make it known to us. “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed and disclosed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may do all of the words of this law. The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” Deuteronomy 29:29, Psalm 25:14.

No. 2. God wants you to know Jesus Christ and all about Hm. Besides believing, following, and trusting Him, God wants to know Him well, to know Him more and to devote your time to know Him better. Just like those disciples of Jesus Christ in His days on earth, there are many believers today who are followers of Jesus Christ just because of what they expect from Him who do not know Him and never take it as a task to seek Him more and know Him more. To these group of people, salvation is never enough and will never open the gates they expect to be open and be lifted off in their lives. God wants us to know Christ Jesus as the messiah of all humanity that we need, the Messiah that He sent, and the Messiah who came in the flesh, died on the Cross and was raised to life again. God wants us to know Christ Jesus as the One He had chosen and ordained to fulfill His plans on earth; the One He had chosen to completely reveal Himself to us all, the One whose words are His words, whose plans are His plans and whose desires are His desires and the One whose Sacrifice on the Cross for the remission of sin is accepted by Him. God wants us to know Jesus Christ as the final authority regarding forgiveness of sin, salvation, blessings, and whatever we may desire or pray for on earth.

God wants us to know that Jesus was born sinless, lived sinless, and died sinless even though He was in the world like all of us today. He wants us to know that Jesus Christ is not only fully God, but He is also fully man. To know that He experienced hunger and thirst, loneliness, and the pain of betrayal and rejection. To know that He suffered humiliation by being hanged naked upon the Cross. To know that He experienced temptations, ate real food, cried real tears at the death of a friend and lost real blood during His crucifixion, He wants us to know that His resurrection was physical, real, and also spiritual. He wants us to know that despite what Christ suffered on earth as a man, nothing was able to prevent His resurrection, His reward of obedience and humility and faithfulness to the mission He came to fulfill. “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11. After His resurrection, He told His disciples with all confidence; “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” Matthew 28:18. That is what God wants us to know about Jesus Christ and wants us to know of Him. It was what Peter knew of Jesus that distinguished him from other disciple and earned Him a promise to lead others.
