"THE DAY GOLIATH FELL (1)"

Post date: Oct 23, 2018 3:48:50 AM

It was not David who took Goliath down, it was God who brought Goliath and David to the same place at the same time and it was God who took Goliath down by His power. Remember it was God who sent Samuel to anoint David, also remember David was anointed to fulfill a purpose set by God, to complete a plan set by God for Israel, and a fulfill a destiny for himself. That same God was the one who had trained David in the forest for that moment with Goliath in his life and brought him before King Saul and all the armies of Israel in the battleground; it was God who enabled the spirit of fearless courage in David against the beers, lions, and against Goliath; it was God setting the stage for His victory to be brought to the people through one boy instead of the armies of men with their weapons of war; it was God setting the stage for Him to take the honor due Him; it was God setting the stage for David to be announced according to the power, plan, and purpose of God for the anointing of David.

The day that Goliath fell was a day of recognition of David by King Saul, his captains of war and the entire rants of the armies of Israel. “When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner the captain of the army, Abner, whose son is this young man? And Abner answered, by your life, O king, I do not know. The king said, ask whose son the young man is. When David returned from killing Goliath the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand. Saul asked him, whose son are you, young man? And David answered I am the son of your servant Jesse of Bethlehem.” 1 Samuel 17:55-58. What a moment it was for David? What a moment it was for his family and what a moment it was for his planned destiny by God to begin in the eyes of men? Whatever God had said of you privately or otherwise, He will make it happen. Do not give up on yourself and do not turn your back from following Christ Jesus with all faithfulness and obedience, He will bring you to that moment and to the time and to that place that even those who matter will recognize you, enquire of you and accept you because of the purpose of God for your life despite your age and your family and wealth.

The day Goliath fell was a day of relieve for the armies of Israel, a day of celebration for all the children of Israel, a day of praise to the Almighty God for the victory; a day that God’s victory was overwhelming and amazing in the eyes of men. That same day, David made new friends and entered into a covenant with Johnathan; remember King Saul was preparing Jonathan his son for the throne after him. A covenant that resulted in a spiritual transfer of the kingship from Jonathan the heir to the throne to David the anointed for the throne. “When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bonded to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself. Saul took David that day and did not let him return to his father’s house. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan stripped himself of the outer robe that he was wearing and gave it to David, with his armor, including his sword, his bow, and his belt.” 1 Samuel 18:1-4.

Irrespective of who is there before you, or who had prepared his or herself or who is preparing to take your place in the things that God had destined for you, I want you to know and understand that whatever God had said of you will surely come to pass in ways that will amaze you, amaze those who have prepared themselves to take your place and amaze your sceptics as we see in the case of David. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts. For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bear and sprout, and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so will my word be.” Isaiah 55:8-10.
