DEEPLY THANKFUL

A thankful heart overflows with unspeakable joy and can achieve many things anytime. It opens the door for all of human impossibilities to be reversed. One cannot truly praise God without being thankful and you cannot be thankful without seeing God in your life despite your ongoing situation. The thanksgiving which results in praise can accomplish things that are far beyond the ordinary thoughts and imaginations now and in the future. It was a thankful heartfelt praise in the prison that resulted in the chains on Paul and Silas to be shattered without assistance from any one to the amazement of those assigned to guard them.

“But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened. When the jailer, startled out of his sleep, saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was on the point of killing himself, because he supposed that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted Do not harm yourself, for we are all here. Then the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling and terrified he fell down before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out of the dungeon and said, Men, what is it necessary for me to do that I may be saved? Acts 16:25-30

Let no one deceive you that you have nothing to be thankful for; let your situation not deceive you, let fear, man, or lack not stop you. The devil desires and takes pleasure on people who are ungrateful and uses them for his purpose, but he fears and dreads a godly cheerful and dedicated heart. Be thankful because your God is still the unchanging God of yesterday who alone changes all things permanently. Be thankful that God is still reigning on His throne; be thankful because He alone has the absolute rule over the affairs of men in all locations and in all professions, there is nothing that will ever happen which will be beyond His knowledge and total understanding.

Let thanksgiving be natural in you, make it deliberately purposeful, focused and let it be with great delight. Know that God will never pass by a cheerful heart which is focused on praising Him; He loves and rewards the cheerfulness which is rightly targeted at giving Him the praise like that of Paul and Silas in prison. Certainly, there is no one living today without reasons to be thankful for irrespective of the location and situation.

There are many things out there to be very thankful for in life, to show true appreciation and to rejoice. God in His infinite wisdom first provided all that man will ever need before making man in His image and likeness. The scripture in Genesis chapter one outlined everything that God made before and concluded with the extraordinary intent of God with these words: “And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it using all its vast resources in the service of God and man; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that creeps on the ground, to everything in which there is the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food. And it was so.” Genesis 1:28-30

Despite what the devil is doing, you were made to be thankful, happy, and satisfied in life. There are resources available for you and the devil will stop you. Thank God for what you have seen, have experienced, still living and very hopeful. Thank Him for things you are yet to see, for His promises and assurance. For prayers Click here
