LORD, I AM CONFUSED

In all of the confusions and uncertainties you will ever have in life, please let it never concern the forgiveness of a truly genuine confession of past sins and mistakes, and let it not be about the grace that brought you to salvation. Everyone had one time or the other been confused in a lot of things and ways in life. What to eat, what to wear for the day and occasion and what not to wear, where to make a home and what profession to pursue. What to do with your colleague, spouse, children, and family members and neighbors unseemly behaviors and what not to do.

It will surprise you to know that everyone, those smiling and those frowning, those in high and those without any position of authority or responsibility, those who are very successful and those still struggling daily to be successful, the married and the singles alike, those with good paying professions, those with good jobs and those without jobs, Christians and non-Christians, pastors and lay men are often confused on what to do in almost everything under the sun.

The rich are confused on what to do with their wealth, where to invest, what to invest in and what not invest in; they are confused on the best way to secure their assets and themselves. The poor are also confused and concerned about their daily conditions, what to do to change their status, and what not to do to prevent the expected change; they are confused on what their next meal will be and where it will come from. Whatever situation you may be, you are never alone in it; everyone had experienced confusion at various levels in life. Your state of confusion should never led to taking irrational actions at any time against anyone, God is able to make away where there had never been away because of you, just to free you from that confusion.

This same promise is for you as it was for the children of Israel in their confusion; “I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. Thus says the Lord, Who makes a way through the sea and a path through the mighty waters. Who brings forth chariot and horse, army and mighty warrior. They lie down together, they cannot rise; they are extinguished, they are quenched like a lampwick: Do not remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. The people I formed for Myself, that they may set forth My praise and they shall do it. Yet you have not called upon Me much less toiled for Me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of Me, O Israel” Isaiah 43:15-22

One of the surest escape route out of every confusion in life is trusting God absolutely to make away even in that situation irrespective of your good or bad feelings. The state of confusion is not the moment to take God’s law into your hands and do what you want to do; many have done that and live to regret the rest of their lives. There are no quick fixes out of confusion, trust keep trusting and following God, He will lead you through successfully. The second is to commit it to yourself to God in earnest prayers till you see it resolved irrespective of the duration you will spend in such prayers. God still answers prayers even in our confused and fearful uncertain.

This was one of Daniel’s prayers in time of great confusion in Israel “O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion and shame of face, as at this day to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to those who are near and those who are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them because of the trespass which they have committed against You. O Lord, to us belong confusion and shame of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers because we have sinned against You. To the Lord our God belong mercy and loving-kindness and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him” Daniel 9:7-9. God did answer Daniel and He will answer you, do not be afraid.
