There are many things to see and many to do but because of our limitation in seeing even with open eyes, we are unable to fully take advantage of what is out there in the open space; even with money, knowledge, and education we still need eyes to see; even in our failures, we still need open eyes to know the way forward and out of every hardship, even with the help of family and friends, we still need open eyes to see properly what is right and appropriate. God had given us eyes to see and He will open those eyes so we can see rightly and walk rightly through the path He had made for us to work and reach our destiny according to His words and plans. When He opens our eyes, He will lead us through the path, He will ensure our safety and success.

In all situations that we will ever find ourselves irrespective of location and circumstances that take us there, knowledge of that situation is power, understanding is needful, and the direction and instructions we receive and follow will definitely make away for us to celebrate if diligently follow them accordingly. People of God, know this, the Almighty God we have come to know and follow wants us to succeed no matter where we are, no matter the color of our skin, gender, no matter the language we speak and understand, no matter our race, our profession, education, and no matter what we will ever confront or whatever will confront or challenge us. How much we see affects how much we know, and how much we understand affects how much we succeed.

Before David asked God to open his eyes, before he desired to see wonderful things in the words of God, and before he made a personal commitment to follow them, he opened his heart to God by pledging to accepted and follow His ways and His laws. David was a man destined to be a great king by God, and when he received the anointing and heard the words of Samuel thereafter, he knew God was with him and ready to take him higher than what he was before the eyes of his parents and siblings. AS you ask God to open your eyes to see, remember God will not deviate from His laws and from words and His plans. This was David’s personal commitment and request to God, and we also have to make these our own personal commitment to God from now on. David made personal commitments to God to be faithful, to keep His words in his heart at all times and in all situations, and to keep His ways. These personal commitments will definitely yield great rewards to you at all times irrespective of the difficulties and pains experienced in your as you follow and also keep them.

“How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. I have tried hard to find you, don’t let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. I praise you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us. I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word. Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word. Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions. I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me. I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations. You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed. Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws. Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees. Your laws please me; they give me wise advice. I lie in the dust; revive me by your word. I told you about my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees. Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds. I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word. Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions. I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations. I cling to your laws. Lord, don’t let me be put to shame. I will pursue your commands, for you to expand my understanding.” Psalms 119:15-32. For prayers, Click here
