“WHY DO I WAIT THIS LONG DEAR LORD?”

Post date: Mar 3, 2016 2:05:36 AM

Many of us have asked that question several times over and many are still asking and wondering what might have been the reason or the problem. You may have given yourself some answers but none is good enough to appease the long wait; you have console yourself many times and many years over, but that consolation had not erased the waiting time and had not solved the problem. You may have condemned yourself for certain actions or hold yourself responsible for the sins you have truly confessed and God had truly forgiven you and condemning yourself had not change or solve the situation. You may hold others, parents, ancestors, siblings, foes, friends, neighbors, location, profession, colleagues, lack and even the devil responsible for having to wait this long and despite all that, the waiting time is not yet over. You may ran out of all tangible ideas and people to blame, but despite that, the God who made you, loves you and sacrifice His Son Jesus Christ for you is still able and willing to do exactly what He had said and promised in your life. Holding self and others responsible for what you or they cannot control is one evil that you have committed to yourself and it is time to let go and free yourself from blame for God to fulfill His words and plans in you.

Those you been holding responsible for the wait are not the people who promised what you have been waiting for; were not there when God made and promised you; they did not contribute anything to your divine nature; cannot give life; cannot preserve hope; are themselves vulnerable and unpredictable. When God keep you waiting for anything in life, please wait and do not revolt, knowing that God is absolutely loving and caring; when men keep you waiting for any promise, you can decide on what to do, to accept or to reject.

God will never keep us waiting as a punishment for any sin, any wrong doing or any reason that we or anyone else may conceive or say to us. His loves goes beyond the bounds of punishing us, goes beyond the bounds of delays His blessings; goes beyond the evil words we receive and hear from foes and friends alike; goes beyond what eyes can see and what heart can perceive. His love is beyond measure and far beyond any sacrifice we can offer. God will not keep us waiting just because He wants to destroy us or take vengeance on us, that is what men will do; when God keep us waiting, He intend to build a close relationship with us and desires our true dependency on Him, on His words, on His promises, and on His person. He intends the waiting to completely transform everything about our character and desires; prove our level of patience and tolerance in many things and in many ways; it builds our faith and expectancy and truly proves our motive in the thing we are waiting for. Motive matters when waiting and expecting from God. Do not give up when the wait is long; keep asking; keep the expectation; keep the hope; keep the faith; keep the patience and keep the trust

“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, God is tempting me. God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.” James 1:12-21. Click here for prayer
