DEAR LORD, I HAVE CHOSEN TO BELIEVE YOU (II)

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:1-8

The only spiritual and physical difference between what you are today and what you will be by tomorrow or the day or the days after or in years to come is what you believe about yourself and about your salvation; what you believe about God and what you believe about the God you are serving now; what you believe you can do and what you believe only God can do. In showing a sense of absolute believe and trust, Jesus Christ our Lord said: “Then Jesus answered and said to them, most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so, the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” John 5:19-23. If Christ Jesus our Lord who was and still remains sinless and faultless can do nothing except the Father enables Him how much less we in our sinful nature and faults? Jesus Christ chooses to believe God the Father, to follow Him and to trust whatever He said and showed to Him and we can do the same also if we want to make any difference in our lives and the lives of others around us.

There are many things in our lives that will never happen and many dreams, desires, aspirations, and expectations that we will never fulfill despite our education, training, knowledge, wisdom, location, and gender until we start believing God, absolutely, voluntarily, wholeheartedly and walk in obedience to His words. We read what the apostle Paul said to the prison guard after they were miraculously relieved of the prison chains by God: “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, do yourself no harm, for we are all here. Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, sirs, what must I do to be saved? So they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.” Acts 16:25-34. This happened because Paul and Silas believed God and the guard immediately believed with them. Believing God can turn the tides in your favor; it can bring health and healing and restoration and victory.  God had given His words. “Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
