BEFORE EVE ATE THAT FRUIT

Post date: Oct 29, 2013 4:08:25 AM

Eve was not a novice to God’s injunction concerning that particular fruits in the Garden of Eden; God did not keep her in the dark of what the consequences of eating the fruit will be; the serpent did not just appear to Eve suddenly, she was familiar with the it in the Garden, she did previously admired the fruit, and she had been in conversation with the serpent before that day. Above all, she made herself easily available in a conversation and also listens to the serpent. Eve did not eat what she did not know and what she did not admire.

The devil will always use who you know, what you know, and what you admire to tempt you, he will not use what you hate and what you do not know. The temptation that came to Eve was from what she knew, admire and from the serpent she knew. Her admiration of the fruit, made her to forget the warnings of God concerning it. Be very careful with what, and who you know, and with what you give yourself to admire. Despite the situation, never ignore any commandments of your God concerning who you know, the things you know, and the things you admire.

Before Eve first accepted to eat the fruit that the devil offered to her on that faithful day, she knew all the commands and words of God concerning it. She remembered all that God told them concerning it, she knew the location, and decided to hang around it and even engaged the serpent within its vicinity even when God had warned them not to eat it. The discussion she had with the serpent were centered within the warnings of God concerning the fruit, and not outside of it.

“And when the woman saw that the tree was good, suitable, pleasant for food and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave some also to her husband, and he ate. Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves apron like girdles. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, where are you? He said, I heard the sound of you walking in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. And He said, who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Genesis 3:6-14

Be careful what you give your time to do consistently; be careful what you give your ears to always hear; be careful what you give your eyes to always see; and what you accept as right, admired, and what you think is acceptable to God. Do not be convinced by what you see, hear, and admire until the word of God clearly clarifies you about them. Never doubt the word of God you know and accept, never allow anyone to convince you to act or to do otherwise despite the level of intimidation. God will always stand by His word and promises; as you stand by all of His words and promises and trusting in it, God will prove Himself in you very soon.

Just like Adam and Eve, God has no intent that you fall or fail, He has no intent to deceive you or to punish you, He has no intent to take you out of where He had previously given to you to a lesser place, and He has no intent that you die, this happens when you give heed to the devil’s words and suggestions.  Remember, most temptations are from within.

Eve was not taken unawares in that temptation, she knew the fruit quite well, admired it, knew the exact location, knew the serpent, and knew the warnings of God before accepting it. Note that what, and who you know, admire and accept, should add values to your life and enhance your relationship with God and not destroy it. For prayers Click here
