FROM THE ALMIGHTY GOD TO ABRAHAM

“The Lord had said to Abram, leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you. So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. He took his wife, Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all his wealth, his livestock and all the people he had taken into his household at Haran and headed for the land of Canaan. When they arrived in Canaan, Abram traveled through the land as far as Shechem. There he set up camp beside the oak of Moreh. At that time, the area was inhabited by Canaanites. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your descendants and Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him. After that, Abram traveled south and set up camp in the hill country, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built another altar and dedicated it to the Lord, and he worshiped the Lord. Then Abram continued traveling south by stages toward the Negev.” Genesis 12:1-9

Abraham’s amazing blessings from God did not just come overnight; it began the moment that Abram out of the blues and unexpectedly heard the voice of God speaking to him and believed what he heard was from the Almighty God and absolutely trusted what God said. Every word of God and every word from Him to you directly or indirectly is meant to generate a blessing in you, for you and through you as it did for Abraham. Through His word, God gave Abraham a new hope beyond his old hopes in life; He gave him a new vision beyond his old visions; He gave him new expectations beyond his old expectations; He gave him a new focus in his mind; He gave him thoughts and knowledge beyond the best of his former thoughts and knowledge; He gave him a new and living dream beyond the old dreams; He gave him what his father could not give him despite all of his possessions, that is what God will also give to you through His words that you have heard and trusted. God gave Abraham financial confidence beyond his father’s and family wealth, gave him assurance beyond what anyone or nation could give; He gave him what he never asked and what he could never imagine. God’s plans are beyond what we could think, what we could ask, what we know and what we could ever do for ourselves or anyone else could ever do for us. God’s word for us is far beyond the best of any of our planning in life; they are better than the best of our strategies, better than the best of any assistance we could receive, better than the best of our thoughts and far better beyond the best of our knowledge of the best things in life and in all things that had ever existed or will ever exist hereafter.

When God visits you, things will never remain the same; when He shows up in your life and in your case, that case will not remain the same; when He saves your life, He will direct your path, He will rescue you and He will restore you and all things will definitely change for good. Every step of your obedience towards His word is a step towards greater blessings and the fulfillment of the destiny He had prepared for you and prepared you for in this life. Before the day that God spoke to Abraham, Abraham did not know things could be better; he did not know his life would have a better purpose and living could be more productive and he did not know that obedience would be so rewarding. It is good to know that what you will receive after obedience to God is far much more than you give up in order to walk in that obedience. Irrespective of the situation, the location, and the circumstances surrounding you; irrespective of your name or family name, obedience to God and to His commands will be far more rewarding than your expectations and the reward will not be with sorrows. God fulfilled all He said to Abraham because he believed and followed what God said to him that day. You can also be fulfilled. For Prayers, Click here
