"AND GOD WENT TO WAR (3)"

Post date: Aug 15, 2018 3:50:57 AM

The ten plagues were not the war but signs to help influence Pharaoh’s decision, to quicken his thoughts concerning the request made by God through Moses and signs to help change his actions against the Children of Israel. They were signs to point him to the power and ability of God to do extraordinary at His will; signs to show him the Almighty God rules in all the affairs of men and signs to prove to Pharaoh that there are things men cannot do in their powers despite the wisdom and knowledge they may have as his magicians did. How many of us ignoring signs from God in our lives and situations? How many of us think we can fix things in our lives and how many of us have surrendered to the word and to the will and to the plans of God for our lives? It is certain that God will punish disobedience and will also reward obedience irrespective of our position, location and profession, and status in the society. All the ten plagues had significance in their nature to the Egyptians and their lifestyle, they were extraordinary and purposely chosen to speak to the conscience, believes, lifestyle and finance of everyone living in Egypt. God is still interested in the liberation of His children from every power of sin and evil that had held them captive against His will and plans for their lives. The plagues were not to punish to enforce His will and plans for the children of Israel. Did you know the enemies of our soul are not at peace with themselves every in their successes and wealth?

These are the continuation of the ten plagues from God given as a warning before the actual war began to liberate the children of Israel held in captivity; Exodus 7:14-11:10

The Plague on Livestock; If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back, the hand of the Lord will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in the field, on your horses, donkeys, and camels and on your cattle, sheep, and goats. But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of the children of Israel.

The Plague of Boils; Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh. It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on people and animals throughout the land.

The Plague of Hail; Then the Lord said to Moses, get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me, or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go. Therefore, at this time tomorrow, I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded until now.

The Plague of Locusts: So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, this is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: how long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians, something neither your parents nor your ancestors have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.
