JUST SPEAK A WORD OH LORD

Post date: Nov 15, 2012 6:02:01 AM

It is always good to know yourself, your position on issues, your beliefs, and what you can and have actually done in life, with all you know of yourself, it better to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and to place Him above every knowledge and capability of yourself. Nothing on earth and in heaven is above Him and no power can be compared to the power in Christ Jesus. It is good to know what He has done to others before and now, what He will do and what He can do in all situations despite your weakness and strength. Earthly positions are with great authority, but there is no position on earth and in heaven to be compared to that of Christ Jesus. Christ said to His disciples when they were confused and silenced in words and thoughts: “All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” Matthew 28:18

Apostle Paul writing from knowledge and spiritual revelation described to us the position of our Lord’s authority, he wrote, “Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).” Philippians 2:9-12. That is, the authority that cannot, and will never be challenged by another power in heaven and on earth had been bestowed on Him. This is the change that changes all things in all situations and we must acknowledge and declare it.

There was this army commander popularly called the centurion in the bible, a man of practical and excellent knowledge in leading warfare, in authority and had exercised that for a period of time. He was well known for his bravery and accomplishment in the military and the society. He had the record of assisting and actually builder religious centers for his community. He was loved by the people and he loves them in return. But a battle came to his own household that his knowledge of warfare and authority was too insignificant to handle, his servant had epilepsy.

For this centurion to have victory over this war of sickness in his household, he had to do one thing, surrender his own authority for that of Jesus Christ, and declare his victory over the servant even before it took place through the words that Christ Jesus would speak to him.

“And Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent [some] friends to Him, saying, Lord, do not trouble [Yourself], for I am not sufficiently worthy to have You come under my roof; Neither did I consider myself worthy to come to You. But [just] speak a word, and my servant boy will be healed. For I also am a man [daily] subject to authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bond servant, Do this, and he does it. Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, I tell you, not even in [all] Israel have I found such great faith [as this]. And when the messengers who had been sent returned to the house, they found the bond servant who had been ill quite well again.” Luke 7:6-10

The captivating action here was the faith of the centurion, he asked with great assurance that when Christ declares his servant healed, it will be so, and truly it was so. The servant was healed after Christ gave His word. Our 2013 declaration prayer begins today. Like the centurion, stand up to the challenges, lay down your struggles at the feet of Christ and declare as the centurion did, “Just say a word, and I know it will be so” send in your request Click here
