WHAT SHALL WE DO WHEN IDEAS ARE NOT COMING? (I)

Post date: Sep 10, 2017 11:30:10 PM

There are times, days and even years that you will lack words to say in many situations; lack ideas to advance your thoughts; lack resources to use in the things you desire most; lack ability to advance beyond where you are; lack dreams that will enlighten your life and profession; lack the desires to do anything because of failures; lack vision of what lies ahead for you; lack someone to help or show mercy and completely lack motivation to push further in life; in such situation, we ask many questions, get confused easily, feel self-pitied, run with low self-esteem, get sad and unhappy; we ask ourselves many unanswered questions, what shall we say to ourselves and to those waiting to hear us, what shall we do to get to the place we want, and how shall we do it with no ideas, no assistance, and no clear direction from the Lord to follow. Most often, we completely lack meaningful solutions to almost everything about our lives and in our lives. But when ideas are not forth coming all through our waiting period as we expected, what should we do? When we are so confused for the lacks in our lives, what shall we do? Even when we have direction and the road is so tough, what shall we do? What shall we say to our frustrations? What shall we say to our fears? What shall we do to get out of where we are to where God is calling us to be? What shall we do to go over this mountain, go over this red sea, go over this wall of Jericho, and what shall we do to defeat the seven nations before us? What shall we do to stand on the other side and say thank you, Lord? There will be many questions when ideas are not forth coming.

I want you to know that you are not the first without an idea and you will never be the last, many people are in the same situation like you and waiting for some solution to come. The great and the not so great and the little are also passing through the same thing and asking questions as you are asking today.  King Jehoshaphat, a president of a nation, the commander of the entire armed forces of the nation, once confessed of lacking ideas in a crucial time when three enemies were approaching to fight a war against him and his people in his own kingdom. He had a similar situation in his time, and this was his confession; “Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, and said: O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, If disaster comes upon us, sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this temple and in Your presence for Your name is in this temple, and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save. And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them, here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20:5-12

Jehoshaphat with all the financial and military power of the nation confessed openly to the hearing of everyone around of having no idea of what to do against the three enemies prepared to fight against his country. If the leader has no idea, what will the subjects do? But we have the Almighty God on our side to call on; He is always compassionate, He is always merciful, He knows all things and He knows everyone. He never lacks ideas, never lack power, never misses direction, never fails in His plans, never fight without winning, and He had never been defeated. While the King confessed to being without power and without ideas on how to proceed, Jehoshaphat said one thing, but our eyes are on You Lord. Did you think God will forget you? Never! He will not.
