YOU NEED GOD’S PROTECTION AS DAVID (2)

“Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom. I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy. Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.” Ecclesiastes 9:9-12; Psalm 127:1. Wisdom, education, planning, strong, fast, and being able is good, but the Almighty God is the only one who will keep you safe, protected, and secured.

God has no desire that you are destroyed by forces of darkness or men of cruel thoughts, hearts, and minds; He has no plans that you die by any means without fulfilling His purpose for your life. Before you were conceived in the womb, God had planned your entire life, and the moment you receive salvation and are born again, God begins to order your ways, directs your hearts, and set your steps on the right path according to His plans for you. God’s plan includes your safety, your protection, your victory, and your success in whatever you do according to what He had in His love and power ordained for you from then on. “Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.Proverbs 22:29

After David’s anointing, he did not just walk into King Saul’s palace to announce himself the next king. He remained in the forest, tending the sheep, playing his music, and wondering how the word of the anointing will be fulfilled until people noticed his skill in songs and in musical instruments. Thereafter, he received a recommendation that eventually took him to the palace, not to announce himself, but to render a divine service according to God’s plans. Whatever God had destined for you, a recommendation will come that will take you to the place for that purpose in the name of Jesus Christ. Whatsoever you do now, do it well, God is watching you, the world is watching you, people are watching you, and the time of your recommendation according to the plans of God for your life and destiny is coming fast. I pray that you will not miss that time, that moment, that opportunity, that recommendation, and that destiny.

“Now the Spirit of the Lord had left Saul, and the Lord sent a tormenting spirit that filled him with depression and fear. Some of Saul’s servants said to him, a tormenting spirit from God is troubling you. Let us find a good musician to play the harp whenever the tormenting spirit troubles you. He will play soothing music, and you will soon be well again. All right, Saul said. Find me someone who plays well, and bring him here. One of the servants said to Saul, One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that, he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man and the Lord is with him. So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say, send me your son David, the shepherd. Jesse responded by sending David to Saul, along with a young goat, a donkey loaded with bread, and a wineskin full of wine. So David went to Saul and began serving him. Saul loved David very much, and David became his armor-bearer. Then Saul sent word to Jesse asking, please let David remain in my service, for I am very pleased with him. And whenever the tormenting spirit from God troubled Saul, David would play the harp. Then Saul would feel better, and the tormenting spirit would go away.” 1 Samuel 16:14-23

David was not protected because of his skills, but because God took him there for His purpose. Wherever God takes you to for His purpose, He will protect, keep, give safety, and success. For prayers, Click here
