ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?

The feeling of the flesh does not in any way express the intents of God in any situation when you absolutely believe and hold on to Him. Almost all of the times, and in all situations, the flesh speaks louder than the Spirit. Not until we learn to understand and apply the reasons of subjecting the control of the flesh under the control of the Spirit of God who dwells in us, we will be driven to great pain and despair and will never enjoy the might of the power of God in that situation. From the scriptures, we read how the flesh cries in the lives of men in the bible, what they did and the reward that follows. Every spiritual truth you uphold and practiced, will definitely bring a resounding benefit irrespective of the delays of the devil, and every spiritual truth you compromise, will also bring its consequence.

We have read the lives of Adam and Eve, Noah and his children, Lot his wife and daughters, Abraham and Sarah, Job, his wife and children, and we have seen the result of the destructive and unpleasant power of the flesh over the spirit. Where the flesh is in contention with spirit in any matter, if we fail to subject the flesh under the control of the spirit we will reap the same unpleasant result. The works of the devil against our flesh are always very painful and we do cry, but when the spirit of God in us is in control, the tears normally turn to joy

Depending on what you are going through right now, settle it in your mind that God is still with you, and that He has not, and will never leave you or forsake you. The devil might have succeeded to take you to the cross for judgment, but remember, the cross is not the place for your judgment, it is a place for your justification. At the cross Satan was judged and Christ was justified to be the Lord. The devil might have succeeded to take you to the laundry table for cleansing, and squeezing for what you have done or have not done, but remember, the laundry table is not a place for your shame, but a place for your purification. There the Lord will purify you even in the mist of your enemies. The devil might have succeeded to take you to the market place for a public showdown, remember God want to showcase you openly even in the market place. The devil might have taken you to the inner chambers for destruction, but remember even there, their works are open before our Lord and He will deliver you from their hands.

The devil might have taken you to the theater for public display, but remember, even there, God is still prepared to declare His name and He needs men and women like you to use in that moments. God will never forsake or leave you.

This was the cry of David. “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You answer not; and by night I am not silent or find no rest. But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]. Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them. They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed” Psalm 22:1-5.That same God will give you answer.

This was the cry of Job “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him” Job 13:15. The God who answered and rewarded Job, will also answer you.

This was the cry of Christ Jesus our Lord. “And about the ninth hour (three o’clock) Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]? And some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, This Man is calling for Elijah. Matthew 27:42-47

The God who did not abandoned David in the time of His distress and cries, but upheld him, the God who did not abandoned Job, but rewarded Him, THE God who brought Christ Jesus back to life after His cry on the cross, will also answer, reward and sustain you in Jesus name. Amen
