Choosing right and doing right in our world today is not as easy as many will think. These difficulties in doing right are equally experienced in many churches, Christian organizations, ministers of the gospel, businessmen, husbands, wives, children, friends, foes employers and employees alike. There are many people who know what is absolutely right to do in their lives, in their offices, in their relationship, in their communities, in their businesses and in their nations but they lack the will power or are completely unable to carry it out due to certain factors that they do not like in seeing what is right be done or will not benefit them directly immediately.

Choosing what is right and seeing it workout as expected is always joyful and that is what everyone desires, but not everyone is so lucky all the time. You can and you should always choose right. That is God’s expectation for you from today and His Holy Spirit is there to guide you if you will allow Him to do what He is assigned to do in your life. What have you chosen to do in this life, and what are you doing right now? What have you chosen to believe, what do you believe right now? What have chosen to follow, what are you following right now? What have you decided is the best thing for you to do in life to yourself, to your God and to others? God is waiting for your choice before giving you the direction as he did to Mary and Martha when He visited their home.

There are many things that are good in this world but not all are right, not all are acceptable by God, and not all are beneficial. The scripture writes. “All things are legitimate, permissible and we are free to do anything we please, but not all things are helpful, expedient, profitable, and wholesome. All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive to character and edifying to spiritual life. There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.” 1 Corinthians 10:23-24; Proverbs 14:12

There are many people who claim to be very right in whatever they are doing, in whatever they think, believe and do, while they are absolutely very wrong in the sight of God. They are many who think theirs is the very best and acceptable way by God. There are many Martha’s in the world today and if you look closely, you may see one right there in you, within you or around you, they are not hidden in any way. These are people who are very proud of themselves, of their actions, and of their beliefs, and they see others as always wrong. They think whatever they know is the best, whatever they have is the best, and whatever they do is the best.

Jesus Christ told Martha, though Mary does not show the excitement as you, she is not doing what you are doing, she is not saying what you say, she is not working like you do, and she do not have what you have, she has chosen the portion that is right and acceptable by Me. “Now while they were on their way, it occurred that Jesus entered a certain village, and a woman named Martha received and welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was listening to His teaching. But Martha overly occupied and too busy was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me to lend a hand and do her part along with me. But the Lord replied to her by saying, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion, that which is to her advantage, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42

There are many things for you to choose from as a Christian, for yourself, your family, your community, your local church and for the body of Christ. Being a Christian is a call to a higher responsibility, a higher involvement and a higher commitment to humanity and God wants you to make the right choice. For prayers Click here
