“SEE ME WHERE I AM NOW DEAR LORD (3)”

“Who is the man who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous those with moral courage and spiritual integrity and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their distress and troubles. The Lord is near to the heartbroken and He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Evil will cause the death of the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be held guilty and will be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” Psalm 34:12-22

We can see how God watches over His children in the life of Daniel; we can see His faithfulness in doing that in the life of Daniel; we can see His purpose and determination in watching over all of His children, and we can see the result of His action. I want you to know that no situation is too hard for God to turnaround, no location is too bad that we cannot feel His presence, and no prison is too strong that He cannot set us free from. The purpose of God watching over us is not to condemn us as people may think but to rescue and set us free from the adverse situations we mistakenly find ourselves either due to our poor judgment of our situations or due to the wicked activities of the evil ones around us who are set to destroy us, destroy our faith and take away our peace. When God watches over the righteous, He will defend them, He will rescue them from wherever they may be held captive by anything, He will set them free from the hands of their captors, He will restore whatever they have lost and He will thereafter establish them above and beyond whatever they have been before.

Daniel and many other children of Israel were captured and taken as prisoners of war to Babylon by the invading armies of Nebuchadnezzar when he invaded Jerusalem. With every captive kept under guard in prison and unlike others children of Israel with him, Daniel decided to distinguish himself, he decided to keep himself, he decided to look unto God and he decided to follow the ways of the God of Israel instead of customs and traditions of the Babylonians by not defiling himself. He was able to convince Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the same prison to follow his decision, and they joined him in abstaining from the tradition and taking up fasting and prayers instead. “But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s finest food or with the wine which the king drank; so he asked the commander of the officials that he might be excused so that he would not defile himself.” Daniel 1:8. That decision while still in prison turns things around for Daniel and those who followed his decision. We read in Proverbs 15:3, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good in all their endeavors.” From that moment on, God set His eyes on Daniel for good.

Daniel, Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego became better physically, in knowledge and understanding of secrets and wisdom than others in the same prison with them who did follow the traditions of Babylon. These four men received good commendation from their guards and were presented before the king with confidence while others were left in the prison. God revealed His secrets to Daniel, gave these four men understanding to His secrets, defended them, released them from the prison, engaged them, made them relevant to the king and to those in authority and promoted them. God ensured everyone respected them. When Daniel was in the den of lions, God was there watching over him and rescues him. When Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego were thrown into the burning furnace, God rescued them. Prayer Request Click here
