GOD ANSWERED HEZEKIAH INSTANTLY

Hezekiah knew he was sick and about to die. He was given a word from the Lord by a Prophet trusted and took as his spiritual mentor that he will not survive the sickness, that he will not recover from the sickness, and that he will die in the sickness. But Hezekiah did not look sad before Isaiah and did not take the word against him instead he turned to the wall and called on God in prayers. In his prayers, Hezekiah did not ask for healing for his body; did not ask God for recovery from the sickness, and did not mention anything concerning his sickness and health to God in that prayer. Instead, Hezekiah concentrated on asking God to remember his past years of faithfulness to His precepts, his past years of wholehearted devotion to His ways, and his past good deeds before His eyes. Did you know God did forgive your past sins and weaknesses when you repented and prayed for His forgiveness with a committed determination not to go back to them? Did you know though God forgets your past sins and weaknesses He has not forgotten any of your past good deeds that glorify and lift up His name before men on earth? That is how God loves us and how faithful He is to everyone who calls on His name.

On hearing the word from Isaiah that he will not recover and was going to die, though he may have prayed for healing before, but now when Isaiah brought the bad news to him, he instantly prayed again, and this time, God answer came and it was instant. I pray this time around, today and right now you will pray again and receive that same instant answer as Hezekiah did. Yours may not be sickness, but something else that makes you uncomfortable and sad, irrespective of its nature, I want you to take a moment right now and pray as Hezekiah did and see what God will do in that situation. When Hezekiah prayed instantly, God also answered him instantly. God had mercy on him and sent that same prophet Isaiah back to him with a new message of hope, of assurance, and of peace. God had mercy on him when he reminded God of your past faithfulness and wholehearted devotion to His precepts. God can still hear and also answer your prayers instantly right now.

This is Hezekiah’s prayer and the instant answer that God gave to him. “Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him, go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, this is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says, I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now, you will go up to the temple of the Lord. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David. Then Isaiah said, prepare a poultice of figs. They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered. Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, what will be the sign that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the Lord on the third day from now? Isaiah answered, this is the Lord’s sign to you that the Lord will do what He has promised, shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps? It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps, said Hezekiah. Rather, have it go back ten steps. Then the prophet Isaiah called on the Lord, and the Lord made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.” 2 Kings 20:4-11. Did not know that despite what you have been told and have heard, God has better plans for you and He will do them?

Pray to God and remind Him of your past testimonies that glorify and lift up His name. Pray and mention your past and current faithfulness and devotion in soul winning; pray and tell Him how you have been supporting His church and His people. Pray with your heart; tell God your acts of past goodness and a promise to even do better. Pray and remind Him of your salvation and His promises to the righteous. Despite the news, despite the situation, despite the delay and what you are going through, never give up on praying. God will answer. For prayers, Click here
