“WHO IS JESUS CHRIST TO YOU?”

We are in the age of super information and advanced knowledge in all things and everywhere you go you will notice people are eager to hear more, eager to know more, eager to see more, and eager to do more. People are eager to discover new things and to inform and convince the world about their new discovery and knowledge; they are eager to know about spiritual and physical things, be it scientific or otherwise. Knowledge is expanding and information is penetrating all corners of the world about our Lord Jesus Christ. Many are believing and accepting and are following what they have heard while many are refusing to accept and are looking for something else about Him to tell, but “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, you are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32. Believing in Jesus Christ will make no difference in you if you do not know the truth about Him, follow the truth you know, and be faithful to all His teachings.

It is good to know many things but the truth you know will make a difference, believing in the truth you know will produce a miracle, following the truth you know will give you true guidance, and be committed to the truth you know will give you assurance beyond all other things. The world has many things they call true which are not true; many things they say is real which are not real; many things they say are dependable which are not dependable, and many things they want you to follow and be committed to which will never bring you closer to God or make your life more valuable in any way to Him. Many of such things will only give you temporal relief; many will give temporal assurance; and many will give temporary promises, build false hope and will seek to guarantee temporal peace, but none of the truth of the world can take the place of the truth that is in the Holy Scriptures concerning your past, your now, and your future. What you know and follow is important and they are necessary for your growth and wellbeing. Jesus Christ did not come to only address your future while your past continues to hunt, hurt, and destroy you and whatever you try to do for your life now.

This was the confession of Simeon “At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32. John the Baptist testified and said: “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He is the one I was talking about when I said, a man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me. I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel. Then John testified I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, the one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.” John 1:29-34. And the angel told Daniel, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” Daniel 12:3-4. God wants you to know the truth and to grow in the truth you know about Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. For prayers Click here
