DEAR LORD, I FEEL LIKE QUITTING (II)

Post date: Apr 26, 2016 3:13:23 AM

You may justify yourself and your feelings by your current and previous experiences; you may be absolute right and truthful in all you say, think, and do, but when you are in Christ Jesus and He also is in you, you can and will overcome those feelings, those wrong actions and stand out a better person even in that same place, with that same situation, with the same feelings, with those same people and make a great difference that will amaze those urging you to quit by what they say and do against you. Do you think God wants you to quit or He wants you to rise up and make a difference with those feelings in that place? Your past may not have been successful, but when God wants to take all the glory, He allows situations like that to happen so that through the situations and feelings He will make something better to happen. The disciples of Jesus Christ experienced everything that would have justified their quitting but they did not; this is what the scripture said about what they went through: “We are pressured in every way, hedged in, but not crushed; perplexed, unsure of finding a way out, but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted; struck down, but never destroyed; always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be shown in our body. For we who live are constantly experiencing the threat of being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be evidenced in our mortal body which is subject to death. So physical death is actively at work in us, but spiritual life is actively at work in you. Therefore we do not become discouraged, spiritless, disappointed, or afraid. Though our outer self is progressively wasting away, yet our inner self is being progressively renewed day by day. For our momentary, light distress, this passing trouble is producing for us an eternal weight of glory, a fullness beyond all measure, surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness. So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal, just brief and fleeting, but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-12, 16-18

I want you to know that God is the only one who orders the steps of His children without making a mistake. I want you to know that though you can predict your future rightly but that future is not in your hands it is in the perfect hands of our Lord Jesus Christ; I want you to know that when He wants you to quit, He will make the way, He will give His words and He will go before you. It is not because of the trouble you are having that will necessitate His asking you to quit but because of His plans for you now and for your future to come. I want you to know that your sights are not as perfect as His sights; your thoughts are not as pure as His thoughts for your life; your ways are not as perfect as His ways for you and your knowledge is nothing compared to what He knows about you, about your location, about your situation and about your expectations in life. I want you to know that He has a better purpose for your life wherever He places you and as soon as you accomplish that purpose, He will relocate you for another higher purpose.

They may have hedged you in but through grace in Christ Jesus, they will never be able to crush you until Christ is glorified in and through you. You may have been perplexed by their continual words and shameful tactic against you, but God is still keeping you and advancing you because He has a plan for you which they cannot and will never see; you may not even be able to find solutions to their wickedness, but know that God can and will speak for you in that same place as He did do David. You may have been driven to despair; hunted down for persecution, but despite that, God had not deserted you; you may have been struck down, yet they cannot destroy you; they may be calling you names, speaking ill of you, not paying you what is due and what was promised, but in all these things, God is still keeping you alive and hopeful because He has a plan He will soon unfold in your life.
