“OH LORD, THIS CAPTIVITY MUST END (3)”

Post date: Mar 13, 2019 3:45:57 AM

God is still answering prayers, and despite the experience of others, He will answer you. All of this captivity will not remain. This is not your shame, it came from outside of God’ plans and desires for your life and God will remove them by His power and might. When Abraham cried to God concerning a son, God heard him, God answered him, God opened the womb of Sarah even at an advanced age, God enabled her to conceive in her own womb, God enabled her in her age to give birth to a living child with great hope and expectations; in that action, God took all their sorrows of childlessness away and delivered them from its captivity for believing and following God. God delivered them from insults and mockery and shame of that captivity and God secured for them the joy they needed in their time. “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, do not be afraid Abram, I am your shield; your reward for obedience shall be very great. Abram said, Lord God, what reward will You give me, since I am childless, and he who will be the owner and heir of my house is this servant Eliezer from Damascus? And Abram continued, since You have given no child to me, one born in my house is my heir. Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, this man Eliezer will not be your heir but he who shall come from your own body shall be your heir.” Genesis 15:1-4. That is what God will do for you now and this time in that captivity that is bringing shame, silence, humiliation, lack, loneliness, and sadness in your life. Your cry to God as was with Abraham will not end in continuous shame or endless hope in God’s miraculous power and deliverance.

When Jabez realized he had enslaved in the family’s web of sorrows, poverty, and shame; when he realized that he as also suffering the same thing as his parents and other family members, and when he realized that what was going on was beyond what any member of his family in all of their power and knowledge could handle or change, he cried to God for a change of the situation, he cried to God for help, he asked God to take the captivity of away from him, he asks God to do what his parents or any other family member could not do, he summed up courage to go beyond human help and he asked God to go beyond the boundary of what he could see or was able to do in his life in his situation, and God heard him, God answered him, and God performed as Jabez had asked. God took the captivity that had been for generations away from him. “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, saying, Oh that You would indeed bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand would be with me, and You would keep me from evil so that it does not hurt me. And God granted his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:10. Captivity of any kind is a shame, it is not from God, it is from Satan to trouble you and keep you sad, unproductive and unable to reach your goals and the goals set by God for your life according to His words and His destiny for your life.

After all that you have struggled, labored, read, worked, prayed, trust God and rely on God to be someone far better than what you are right now, to be somewhere far better than where you are right now in your career, marriage, home, and profession, it is painful to note that you have not made much progress as you had desired, your ways are still too far off and your destination and the destination of your dreams and desires are still far beyond where your eyes can see and where your imaginations can reach and you suddenly realized that something is still holding you back and that something is far beyond your ability knowledge, far beyond your ability to resist or overcome, far beyond the best of family or friends or any other human ability to truly help; far beyond money and far beyond just sitting idle and waiting. If the Lord had not been on our side let Israel say if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124:1-8. Prayer Request Click here
