“EQUIP ME FOR GOOD SUCCESS OH LORD (II)”

Post date: Nov 23, 2017 5:53:44 AM

These men were equipped with their beliefs in the Almighty God; they were equipped with their strong faith which was tested openly before the people and before Nebuchadnezzar the king; they were equipped with the word of truth in the Holy Scriptures; they were equipped with the uncommon  confidence they displayed in the God they knew, in the God they served, and in the God they had given themselves to follow; they were equipped with the divine courage to counter intimidations, overcome intimidations, and to withstand threats from any situation in every circumstance by the word of faith in the Almighty God. But we are better equipped by the sacrifice on the Cross at Calvary; equipped by the dead and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; equipped by the power in His blood; equipped by His willing love; and also equipped with the same word of God as the three Hebrew brothers though they only had the Old Testament Scripture while we have both the Old and the New Testaments as our weapons. That same word they believe and who lived in and was with them in the fire is the same in us and in us also; that same God they served is the one we serve who had given us salvation; that same God they trusted is the same we should also trust, and that same God they had confidence on is the same God we should put our confidence in today. He will not disappoint our hope and our trust as He did not disappoint these three men before Nebuchadnezzar and the people waiting to see them die in the fire of affliction.

“Then Nebuchadnezzar in a furious rage gave a command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; and these men were brought before the king. Nebuchadnezzar said to them, is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if you are ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very good. But if you do not worship, you shall be thrown at once into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire; and what god is there who can rescue you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, O Nebuchadnezzar; we do not need to answer you on this point. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king looked and was astounded and he jumped up and said to his counselors, did we not throw three men who were tied up into the midst of the fire? They replied to the king, certainly, O king. He answered, look, I see four men untied, walking around in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt. And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods. Then Nebuchadnezzar approached the door of the blazing furnace and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out of there, come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the midst of the fire. The satraps, the prefects, the governors and the king’s counselors gathered around them and saw that in regard to these men the fire had no effect on their bodies, their hair was not singed, their clothes were not scorched or damaged, and even the smell of smoke was not on them.” Daniel 3:13-18; 24-27

Without their prior knowledge and insight; without dreams and words of revelations or prophecy, God had equipped these three Hebrew brothers to stand the test of a physical fire irrespective of its temperature; He had equipped them to survive the fire by His physical presence that was seen only by Nebuchadnezzar the king; He had equipped them to withstand every public humiliation, and He had equipped them to be honored publicly thereafter. When God equips you, things will definitely work as He had planned even when the enemies seem to be winning by word or action. I pray God to equip you with His boldness and confidence and you stand in His power until you are honored as these three men were honored in Jesus name. Amen. For Prayers, Click here
