TO GOD, I SURRENDER

Everyone is passing through trying times in various ways, some in a big way and some in a small ways, but trials irrespective of the magnitude is never something that is pleasant to anyone. One thing is quite common, they all comes from the same source, Satan. He uses several spiritual and physical instruments in carrying out his ugly plans, but my joy is that God will never keep us in the dark for too long in identifying such instruments. Though the devil will try us several times from year to year, his first assumption in every attempt is that we will keep overcoming him so he keeps coming in newer ways and methods.

These are two things to do when confronted with any form trials from the devil. Know who you are and stand your ground in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Identify and stay on your purpose and mission irrespective of the frustration and delays. These are the two things that define you before the devil and before men and God on earth today, and the devil is out to steal, destroy and kill them in you. The devil will never try you on things that God had not given you.

He knows them and will do everything within his power to rub you of them and you have do everything in Christ Jesus to keep and make good use of all that God had given you. God knew you and knew the impact of such gift in you and on earth. He wants you to use them to benefit Him, yourself and humanity, and the devil comes in his fullness the moment you identify them and set your foot to actualize them.

We read in Luke 4, how the devil using his strategy came to Jesus Christ immediately after His baptism before the beginning of His mission on earth. The bible said he took Him to the wilderness to be tempted. You may be in your wilderness of temptation today, but know that you are not alone. Christ Jesus was there before you and is there to give you the strength and courage needed to overcome. He did overcome and so will you.

There is the wilderness of temptation and there is the Wilderness Road to your promised land. On the wilderness of temptation, Christ was there alone with the devil, while on the Wilderness Road to the Promised Land, the Children of Israel were there with each other and with the presence of Christ Jesus. The most difficult is the wilderness that is you and the devil alone, but this time you should know that you are not alone; there is an unseen presence of God to keep you victorious, please know that God will not leave alone again.

At the wilderness of temptation, Christ did not surrender to the devil and you should not. He said And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. Luke 4:12-13This is our consolation;  “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it1 Corinthians 10:13

But at the cross Christ said “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost” Luke 23:44-46

Don’t surrender to adversity, don’t surrender to failures, and don’t surrender to the intimidation of the devil. He went to our Lord Jesus three times with the same aim. We overcome with the blood and with the words of our testimony and must keep that testimony alive. Surrender your burden to God and not to the devil. What will be your testimony before Christ? What will you show as evidence of your faith? I urge you to surrender to God at the cross and not to the devil in adversity.
