THE LORD’S PRAYER

Post date: Jun 26, 2012 7:58:14 AM

Irrespective of the circumstances you are in, good, bad or dire, our Lord Jesus Christ wants you to develop and maintain a higher level of expectation based on what God will do in your life sooner or later. This expectation should not be based on what you have gone through in life or what you are going through now or what people have done to you, or promised you. Our God is full of sweet surprises for His children daily, He is an changing God, the one who alone can do what no man will ever do for you or you do for yourself. God can do the expected and the unexpected, God can do the ones we dream, and the ones we cannot dream, He can do far beyond the very best of our intelligence and actions. Today is a gift from God alone, not because of our extra carefulness and ability which is equally needful. This day came with so much good things attached to it by God to each of us despite the ugly things some are experiencing right now. The power to experience renewal and fulfillment is in the hands of our God and there is nothing impossible for Him to do.

One of the most troubling aspects in life is to know what the enemies are plotting behind in their privacy. It is more troubling when the enemy turns out to be our very best friend, a family member, or a colleague. It is most painful when we take these plots to heart and allow them to dictate our thoughts and expectations. Did you know that such thoughts are often more painful and devastating than the plots itself? Taking such plots to heart renders us more fearful in everything else we do rather than being bold, it makes us doubtful of everyone, even those sent by God to render help to us in our situations and activities; it makes us prone to mistakes, and has the power to affect our health quicker, thereby opening the door for the plots to affect us. These are not God’s intents for us, do not allow the intents of men be the controlling force of your day and activities. The answer to the wickedness of men in all of its magnitude is still in the hands of God. Wait, do not be fearful and you will see Him answer soon.

The disciples of Jesus were as fearful as we are today, and after observing the confidence in Christ Jesus as He prayed, they asked Him to teach them how to pray, and He said; “Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen” Matthew 6:9-13

He taught them five things in this prayer. (1) To keep their expectations above their fears; trust God no matter what, expect His kingdom no matter where, (expect the perfection of assistance and intervention at all times). God’s will for you, will never come too late or too early. We have to keep our expectations high and focused on Him, because in His time, He will grant them to us. (2) To express their expectations above their doubts; trust in their God above their daily troubles, freeing their thoughts and minds from the evil plots of men. (3) To expect the blessings of each day. Good health and healing; merited and unmerited favor, profiting ideas and opportunities to carry out such even in the presence of our opponents, victory, ease of transactions, peaceful and focused mind, and understanding are part of the “give us our daily bread”. (4). Expect God’s leadership. “Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil” is wisdom, discernment, direction, safety, guidance and protection. (5) To free their minds through forgiving others so they can have the boldness and focus in their expectations. Practice this five steps and your life will change for good forever. He alone owns all the power and the glory to do all things. When you focus on God’s expectations for your life, He will daily bring you into opportunities and grace to benefit in them all. God will keep you, and open the doors of His kingdom for you.
