“I DEMAND THIS MOUNTAIN TO MOVE OH FATHER (II)”

Post date: Aug 24, 2017 2:06:21 AM

“Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, let no one eat fruit from you ever again. And His disciples heard it. Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, Rabbi, look, the fig tree which You cursed has withered away. So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:12-14; 20-24

We are commanded by Christ Jesus to ask with a promise that He will do what we ask; He gave us a practical example of what to ask; example on how to ask, and example on what to expect after asking. In asking we present our needs despite our fears and our doubts. Christ knew it was not yet the season for figs but they were hungry and needed to eat, together with His disciples they went to the fig with expectation but there was nothing in the fig to satisfy their expectation, He cursed the tree and moved on; would you speak to your mountain and move on? God will do what He will do; keep your expectations and your trust, He is far more than that mountain and besides, there is no mountain that He cannot remove. Another example Christ gave was that we should ask to satisfy a need and a desire, not just asking for the fun of asking, but to be decisive, be precise, be true in your demand and be courageous in what you ask. Christ had a need and desired to address that need; what came next was not expected by His disciples but it did happen. The last example was what the disciples said to Him and His reply to them; they called His attention to the tree He caused the previous day and what happened to it. His reply was, when you ask, believe, trust, and faithfully expect it to happen without doubts in your heart that God will not do what you asked because of your past sins or sins of your ancestors or family member which He had gracefully forgiven you; doubts because of those who you assume with or without evidence are behind what you are going through; doubts in your mind because of the person’s behind the scene in your case proven evil powers in the past years; or doubts in your heart because you think you are not qualified enough or that there are many people more qualified than you waiting and asking the same thing as you; or doubts because of what you heard, know and seen; Christ Jesus said ask and it will be done as you have asked.

Asking something from God relieves our heart and mind from torture of the impossibilities we know concerning our affairs; asking from God raises our expectations despite what we have experienced in that same thing; asking from God gives us hope despite our disappointments and discouragements and failure to have that same thing before; asking from God opens our eyes to see and expect divine intervention to see what will happen thereafter, and asking from God helps deepen our trust in God rather than trust in ourselves and in our knowledge and failing reasoning. Jabez knew his parents were poor, but their poverty did not stop him from asking God for a change; he knew his parents and siblings were disappointed and discouraged in themselves and in him, but their disappointments and discouragement never prevent him or discouraged him from asking God for what they had concluded as impossible in the family and in the lives of any of their children. What is discouraging you from asking God right now? Jabez received because he asked and believed God can do it for him. Jabez concluded that his parent’s reasons for failure will not be his reason; their disappointment will not be his and that he will not continue in the pains and anger of his family.
