WHEN EXPECTATIONS ARE OVER DELAYED

God is not worried because your expectations in life are too many and too high for Him to meet all of them neither is He disturbed because they are often changed and their targets are too close or past due. He is worried because of what it will take to fulfill them and He is never disturbed by the cost of meeting all of them. The largeness of your expectations is a delight to God and the cost of meeting all of them is nothing compared to the vastness of His inexhaustible spiritual and physical resources. As Christ Jesus paid the full price for our salvation, so is He ready to pay the price to meet all of our ongoing expectations in life. He will not leave anything undone in our lives and will not leave anyone of His Children disappointed and frustrated indefinitely. There are no righteous expectations of any one believer that God had not made adequate provision for and will not be met by the Lord irrespective of the years of delays and frustrations. God will not turn anyone down irrespective of the number of days or years they may have been waiting for them. The assurance we have in the Holy Scriptures can never be faulty and the examples we have in the scripture can never be wrong. All true believers and the true follower of Jesus Christ had confidently been told: “Do not let your heart envy sinners who live godless lives and have no hope of salvation, but continue to live in the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord day by day. Surely there is a future and a reward, and your hope and expectation will not be cut off. Listen, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way of the Lord.” Proverbs 23:17-19

It is a common thing to see believers shift in thoughts and get worried when the same thing they are asking the Lord for and waiting on Him for days and years, praying to Him fervently for and subjecting themselves to fasting often for years unending without result are easily accomplished or received by godless people without a fight and without a struggle. When people who do not know the true God, who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and who will never appreciate Christ Jesus for anything get the same thing we have been waiting and praying for, we often become worried about ourselves and start questioning ourselves and our God and most of the times we become very envious in our heart and troubled in heart, but we are told our envy or worries will not help us in any way; we are told when such is the case, we should continue in our hope in Him; we should continue in our trust in Him; we should continue in our expectations from Him; we are told to continue to live in the reverence of His Holy name; we are told to continue in worshiping Him always; we are told to continue in our loving fear and expectations to enjoy His mercies and His goodness; we are told there is a future that we will sure attain to and receive from Him in this very life; we are told our expectations will not cut off or destroyed despite the delays and the evil we do often experience; we are told to continue keeping our hope alive in Him; we are told we will have the reward of our expectations as long as He keeps us alive on earth; we are told to be wise and continue directing our hearts in the ways of the Lord.

God is never afraid of your life expectations because He had been found wanting but when most or all of your expectations are over delayed, it is not because you are living in sin or continuing in sin or evil deeds. Long before the day of your salvation, Christ took your sins to the cross and left them on the cross and declared you freed from sin and guilt, and you can confidently say: “And we know with great confidence that God who is deeply concerned about us causes all things to work together as a plan for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. For those whom He foreknew and loved and chose beforehand, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son and ultimately share in His complete sanctification, so that He would be the firstborn, the most beloved and honored among many believers. And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified, declared free of the guilt of sin.” Romans 8:28-30. Prayers Click here
