SOMETIMES -------- (2)

Despite the fact that we feel bad sometimes, God is always with us all the time. Sometimes when the tide of living is higher than our expectations, sometimes when the toil of living and coping with the situation becomes too hard to bear, sometimes when the punishment is greater than the offense, sometimes when the wait time is longer than we thought, sometimes when our patience is abused and taken for granted, sometimes when the enemies think they are winning and in control, sometimes when God’s expected intervention is coming fast enough, sometimes when the weight of suffering is taking over our thoughts and destroying our faith, we feel like giving up, we think we have been rubbed and misused, we think we trusted God falsely or acted on His commands and words wrongly; but despite the feelings, the thoughts, the self-consolations, the imagination, the positive thoughts, when God allows it, He has a plan that is bigger than the pains and thoughts of suffering when we keep following and obeying Him.

God was there when Job was born, He was there when Job got married, He was there when Job started his business, He was there when Job had children, He was there when Job employed people to work for him. God was there when Job praying for all his children. God saw Job’s business, saw his righteousness, saw his labor of love, and saw his faithfulness and God blessed and increased job above his friends and associates in business. “There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless, a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. He had seven sons and three daughters. He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was, in fact, the richest person in that entire area.” Job 1:1-3

God’s favor, protective power, and grace were with Job when Satan asked for a permit to afflict his life and his business the way he wanted and God granted Satan the permit he requested. God was still with him when Satan started his evil works against him, killing all his children, destroying all his business, family, and finally afflicting him with sickness. God was there when Job was homeless and lonely. And sometimes we wonder, why did God give Satan such an evil permit against a person like Job with all of his righteousness, blamelessness, integrity, fear of God and all his faithfulness to Him and dedication to His commandments; but who are we to question God or fault His actions in our lives and in the world He created. All we know is that when the Almighty God allows anything in our lives despite our righteousness, faithfulness, and right-standing with Christ Jesus and His words, though we experience hardship, rejection, pains, sorrows, isolation, humiliations, sadness, shame, nakedness, lack and hunger in the process, God has a bigger plan for us and He will never fail in those plans as He had never failed in all of His plans.

God was still with Job even when Satan destroyed his family; destroy his business, and destroyed his health. Remember, there is no record of sin in his life before Satan started his wickedness of destruction. Job was not first tempted before the destruction started, he was tempted thereafter and God helped and sustained him through. When in your righteousness and faithfulness to God temptation comes, when you experience destruction and pains, delays, and hardship, be rest assured that God had not departed, God had not rejected you and God had not abandoned you. He will not keep silent forever, He will work out a way for you, He will sustain you and He will restore you. “When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before. Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money and a gold ring. So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren. Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, full life. Job 42:10-17. For prayers, Click here
