GIVE ME SOMETHING NEW FROM NOW OH LORD (04)

“The people whom I formed for Myself will make known My praise.” Isaiah 43:21. Not others, but the people He formed for himself; the people He saved through repentance and forgiveness, the people He washed clean by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, the people He took out from the power of sin, out from the darkness and out from evil consequences; the people He had delivered from the claws of Satan’s destruction that will make known His praise on earth; that is you when new things begin happening in your life; when afflictions and shame are over; when sadness is no longer your constant companion, when you have overcome loneliness; when the long-delayed promotion comes; when you experience in real life the restoration of the power of God, the restoration of the things you have lost, when you begin seeing your family restored, your marriage restored and blessed, your children being fulfilled, your spouse joyful again, your finances and your job benefits fully restored, and when you begin to see and talk about all other rewards that follows your obedience and faithfulness to the Almighty God.

After many years of hope, of trust, of prayers, and of expectations, it was a joyful thing for Sarah to see herself pregnant when she was ninety years old and had lost hope of ever being a mother or having a child of her own; it was a joyful thing for her to see her newborn son Isaac on that day of delivery; it was a joyful day for her to laugh after people had judged her too old to desire or have a child or even conceive one in her own womb. Oh what a joy it was for her that day and the days and years following, and what a joy it will be for you also now and for all the years that will come? Sarah’s conception was long overdue but it finally came; Sarah’s own child was long overdue but he finally showed up, when expectations are not forthcoming, even when men have counted it impossible for you, even when you have been condemned, assaulted and pushed aside, God can, and God will still do something new with you, in you, and through you. That is how faithful our God is to all His words and promises to all His Children.

After knowing she was pregnant, after her delivery and after seeing her son Isaac alive with her eyes, her laughter was spontaneous, it was a big relief from sadness and shame, a big relief from unending desires, a big relief from being condemned by people, a big relief from self-rejection and consistent bad feelings, a big relief from hatred and anger, a big relief from endless hope. “The Lord graciously remembered and visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for her as He had promised. So Sarah conceived and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him. Abraham named his son Isaac, the son to whom Sarah gave birth. So Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, just as God had commanded him. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born. Sarah said, God has made me laugh, all who hear about our good news will laugh with me. And she said, who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? I have given birth to a son by him in his old age. The child Isaac grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.” Genesis 21:1-8

Sarah was not alone in that relief and celebration, Abraham, family members, friends, and many others joined. When God does something new, not only you will be relieved, others with and around you will be relieved, the church will be relieved, your family members will be relieved, all your children and spouse will be relieved, friends will be relieved and everyone who knows and is associated with you will be relieved. The friends and family of Jabez were relieved when they saw the new things God was doing in his life; the King and friends of Daniel were relieved when they saw him walking out from the den of lions. The friends of Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego were relieved when they saw them walk out from the burning furnace alive. Oh, what joy awaits you when God begins something new in your life?
