DEAR LORD, I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A BAD NAME (4)

Post date: Feb 21, 2019 4:50:30 AM

At the appointed time, God will announce you, He will change the things that need to be changed and he will give you His grace to proceed thereafter. God knows all the reasons you are called that offensive name, He has heard the name or names, He has seen your anger at the name, seen your worries of its effect on you, and seen how confused you have become because of the names. It is true that He knows exactly what to do and will not fail in doing them. Your days of relief from names that are offensive and hindering you is coming; your day of overcoming that stigma in the name is coming, and your day of being free from those wicked intentional names given to you because of your situation, health, job, religion, and your financial position is coming. The God we serve will quicken it, my prayer is that He will not delay that day any longer.

When it was time to change names, God changed Abram to Abraham, though He could have still blessed him with that name and He decided otherwise; note that even with his former name, God was still able to communicate with him; with that former name, God gave him a living promise and invited him into a covenant; with that former name, God instructed him on what to do; with that former name, God guided him; with that former name, God gave him the grace to begin the journey of faith, and with that former name, gave him significant blessings. The name Abram was not a hindrance to his hearing God and for God to bless him, but it was a hindrance for God to fulfill the covenant He had with him, and at the right time,  God changed the name to what He had desired, designed, and destined for the covenant to be fulfilled. Whatever will hinder the covenant of God for your life from being fulfilled will be taken away in Jesus name.

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am God Almighty; walk before Me with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence, and be blameless and complete in obedience to Me. I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly through your descendants. Then Abram fell on his face in worship, and God spoke with him, saying, as for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and as a result, you shall be the father of many nations. No longer shall your name be Abram, exalted father, but your name shall be Abraham, father of a multitude; for I will make you the father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger moving from place to place, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession or property and I will be their God. Further, God said to Abraham, as for you, your part of the agreement, you shall keep and faithfully obey the terms of My covenant and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is the sign of My covenant, which you shall keep and faithfully obey, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised. And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be the sign, symbol, memorial of the covenant between Me and you.” Genesis 17:1-10

When it was time to change name again, God changed Sarai to Sarah, though He could have still given her the promised son with that former name but He decided otherwise. With her former name, God gave her the grace to hear a promise of a son that will be conceived by her in her own womb and called Isaac; with the former name God gave her hope beyond adversities, delays and the names and words of men, but for the sake of the covenant God changed her name. “As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.” Genesis 17:15-16. Prayer Request Click here
