REASONS JESUS CHRIST WAS PRESSURED BY SATAN

Satan, his agents of evil and wickedness, the foes, and friends around you, your colleagues in high and in low positions and places and your family members will not in any way pressure you without a reason. It is either because of what they have seen in you, the hardship, the lack, the sufferings, the endless struggles, the often sickness, the prolonged loneliness, the hindrances you are currently experiencing, or the stagnations despite all your best efforts. The pressure will come because of what they have expected of you by now or what they are expecting from of you in your marriage, in your profession, in your promotion, in your spouse, in your business, in your job, or in your children; pressure will come because of what they think of you concerning your dream future as a man or a woman, and pressure will come because of what they have heard concerning your aspirations in life and living. Yet in all of these ways, God had prepared you to overcome and He wants you to equip yourself for victory over every form of pressure and be established in what He had planned and purposed for you in this very life. Remember, you were made by God for a unique and divine purpose and you are where you are now to fulfill that purpose and satan and his agents will take you out by their pressures against the plans of God for your purpose in this life.

The pressure that Satan placed on Jesus Christ was because of His situation then, His future and His purpose in God’s program and plans and nothing else. The reasons for the pressure was to stop Christ Jesus through compromise with Satan, to stop His future through disobedience to the written words of God, to make God His plans for His life through rejection, and to render Him unqualified and incapable of meeting, fulfilling those plans, and achieving the desires of God through greed and quick wealth, fame and recognition offered. I want you to note, these pressures came as Christ was about to begin the journey to His destiny in God’s plans for humanity and for Himself. “Then the Spirit led Jesus up into the desert to be tempted or tested by the devil. Jesus fasted for forty days and nights. After this, He was very hungry. The devil came to Jesus to tempt him, saying, If you are the Son of God, commands these rocks to become bread. Jesus answered, it is written in the Scriptures, a person lives not on bread alone but by everything God says. Then the devil led Jesus to the holy city and put him on a high place of the Temple. The devil said, if you are the Son of God, jump down because it is written in the Scriptures, He has put his angels in charge of you or will order His angels to protect you. They will catch you in their hands so that you will not hit your foot on a rock. Jesus answered him, it also says in the Scriptures, do not test the Lord your God. Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and all their splendor. The devil said, if you will bow down and worship me, I will give you all these things. Jesus said to him, go away from me Satan, it is written in the Scriptures, you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him. So the devil left Jesus, and angels came and took care of him.” Matthew 4:1-11

Satan is putting pressure on you for a reason, he is watching you for an opportunity, he is waiting patiently and ready to take on you through what you are going through now, take on you because of what God had already said and destined concerning you, take on you because of what your future holds in Christ Jesus as His believer and follower, and Satan is ready to take on you because of what you are preparing yourself to be become according to God’s plans and purpose. You have to be ready to overcome that pressure, you have to ready to overcome Satan and his agents hereafter. Satan waited for Christ Jesus until He was preparing Himself through obedience to begin fulfilling the plans of God for His life. Satan knew Jesus was the Son of God yet he went ahead to put pressure on Him and Jesus did not overcome the pressure because he was the Son of God but because He relied on and believed the Scriptures.
