Daniel was an Israelite indeed; he was a true believer in the God of Israel and His true follower; he was a true believer in what God's power can do; he was a true believer in the power and reward of effective fasting and prayers; he was a true believer in a consistent cooperate, and personal prayer; he was a man that never allowed his situation to affect his relationship with God and the people with him; he was a man who was able to discipline himself; he was a man with great humility; he was a man who stood by the promises of God irrespective of the prevailing circumstances; he was a man of courage; a man of wisdom who depended on the Almighty God for wisdom and shows the same to the world; a man who seeks God’s directions and waits for it despite delays and frustrations; he was a man who was delighted to show and to tell everyone about his God and His power to do amazing things. He always wanted God to show Himself.

Daniel passed through severe trials; spent some good time in prison; condemned for no offense; accused wrongly, judged wrongly, treated wrongly and viewed as an obstacle to some people’s progress. He had spent time with the very poor, with those in prison, with those in government, spent time with kings, and with the Almighty God. He had experienced the worst and the very best in his lifetime; he had been in and out of captivities but none of those things did affect his relationship with the Almighty God. When he was in the prison in captivity, he fasted and prayed and God granted him favor and freedom; when he was jobless and idle, God gave him the grace to know, recall and interpret dreams; when he was in leadership with none believers, God gave him exceptional wisdom to excel above them and their evil plans and plots. When He was accused of not following their gods and worshiping with them, God gave him the strength to pray the more and to remain steadfast to Him. When he was thrown into the den of Lions to be killed, God sent His angel to preserve him by shooting the mouth of the lions; when he was hindered by the prince of Persia, God sent His angel to deliver him from the evil and gave him the power to understand revelations. Through God's help Daniel enjoyed exceptional favor from the kings and rulers in a foreign country, survived the lion’s in their own den, enjoyed great prosperity and success, gainfully employed and greatly rewarded and promoted the love and power of the Almighty God. The God who helped Daniel will help you irrespective of the situation. As Daniel enjoyed freedom, so will you; as he received wisdom and favor so will you; as he gained recognition, so will you; God lifted Daniel up and above all the evils of men, so will you be lifted up.

“Then the king arose at dawn, at the break of day, and hurried to the den of lions. When he had come near the den, he called out to Daniel with a troubled voice. The king said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to rescue you from the lions? Then Daniel spoke to the king, O king, live forever, my God has sent His angel and has shut the mouths of the lions so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also before you, O king, I have committed no crime. Then the king was greatly pleased and ordered that Daniel be taken out of the den. So Daniel was taken out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in and relied on and trusted in his God. The king then gave a command, and those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions, they, their children and their wives; and before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language who were living in all the land: may peace abound to you, I issue a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to reverently fear and tremble before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring and steadfast forever, and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, and His dominion will be forever. He rescues and saves and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, He who has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered and enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.” Daniel 6:19-28 . For Prayers Click here
