OH LORD, GIVE US YOUR MERCY NOW

“I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt. We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud. Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods? Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord. Many, Lord, are asking, who will bring us prosperity? Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 123:1-4; 4:1-8. God’s mercy is still available and it is always sufficient enough to turn things around. When your strength fails you, remember His mercy will not fail and you can and will be raised up again; when friends and family fails you, remember God’s mercy will not fail; when health fails and hope looks weak, remember God’s mercy will not fail; when help is not coming as expected and as promised, remember God’s mercy will not fail; when dreams and desired are delayed and when frustrations and disappointments are taking their toll in your life, remember God’s mercy will not fail. When trouble rises against you and confrontations, condemnations and shame are pointed at you, remember, God’s mercy is sufficient and will not fail you.

God is never exhausted in mercies, His mercies are renewed every day and men are transformed by that mercy, they are healed by that mercy, they are delivered by that mercy, they are made strong and given hope and testimonies by that mercy. Irrespective of the situation, God’s mercy can turn things around, can restore things, and can keep you until the impossible will begin to happen that God alone may be glorified. God hears the cries for mercy and He will answer, He will give us mercy as we remain faithful to Him and in His presence. When Paul cried for healing and strength to continue in what God had called him to do, God told him his mercy is with him and is sufficient to help him accomplish what he wanted in life and ministry despite the sickness. God’s mercy will be unleashed on you beyond measure and you will see it.

When two blind men saw Jesus Christ passing, they cried out for mercy and He showed them His mercy by healing them. God’s mercy brings health and restoration and hope. When the woman with the daughter who was sick and possessed met Jesus, she asked for mercy on herself and her daughter and received healing deliverance and healing for her daughter. When the father of the son who had seizures from birth saw Jesus Christ after the prayer of the disciples had failed, he asked Jesus Christ for mercy and Christ answered by delivering the child and healing him. When the blind beggar heard that Jesus Christ was passing by, he cried loud even when he was rebuked by the people, calling Jesus Christ to have mercy on him and beyond his expectation, Jesus called him forth and restored his sight and his joy was restored. God’s mercies will always bring restoration of life, restoration of hope, restoration of dreams, restoration of strength, restoration of favor, restoration of desires and will always restore our lost joy for living.

“Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts. Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees. Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law are not obeyed. You are righteous, Lord and your laws are right.” Psalm 119:132-137. For prayer Click here
