“IT IS TIME TO TAKE THIS SHAME AWAY OH LORD”

Post date: Aug 10, 2016 5:00:53 AM

Shame is always shameful and will remain to be a thing of concern to every true believer and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and everyone who had been its victim at any time. shame is bad and very uncomfortable irrespective of its name, its nature, your name; religion; location; profession; race; gender; language and nationality. Knowledge, education, exposure, and money cannot hide certain kind of shame especially when it is spiritual and a result of any disobedience to God’s divine principle and not until God steps in to take away such shame, no one and nothing will do it; my trust is that God will step in and He will take away the shame by His power and by His love. He did it for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden; He did it for Peter at the moment of his disappointments; He did it for Sarah and Hanna after many years of unexpected delays and barrenness; He did it to Jabez despite the name he was given at birth; He did it for Isaac, Moses, Joseph, John, and many others and I am sure He will do the same for you. He is able and He is willing and He will do it.

Adam and Eve tried their best to hide their physical shame after disobedience but they were not successful, and God did not abandon them there, He stepped in and took the shame away by perfectly covering their nakedness forever: He will do yours. The parents of Jabez did all they could to cover or overcome their shame and when they could not succeed, the took the anger of their failure on their newborn baby and named him after their shame but thank God Jabez knew the God who can eradicate both spiritual and physical shame permanently from the lives of the people who calls on Him by faith and in truth, when that is done in the name of Jesus Christ. One thing is very certain shame cannot be hidden and unfortunately it raise awareness and calls for attention when you are on your way up in order to bring you down and shut you up.

Physical and spiritual shame, known and unknown shame has the ability to bring you down, lock you up, and hinder the best of you from being seen, known and appreciated; shame can render you speechless when you voice is needed most; it can stop you from demanding your right; it can stop you from seeking justices; it can make you guilty even when you are right; it can make you deny and reject yourself publicly and openly; it can make you become a fool voluntarily; it can affect your relationship, your job, and your marriage if not dealt with decisively; it can make you timid and fearful; it can render you lonely and comfortless; it can make you look gloomy the rest of your life. It can be a major hindrance to your dreams and visions; it can hinder your chances of being successful despite your adequate preparation and having the best recommendation in your hands. The ultimate desire of shame is to keep you permanently backward with complaint and an unending anger at everyone on everything everywhere you are. It is time for God to take away the shame of your birth; in your education; in your marriage; in your profession; in your family; in your relationship and in your finances. God did not leave Adam and Eve in their shame.

There are things you have become used to and they no longer look like shame in your eyes yet they are very shameful in the eyes of the Almighty God. There are things that are shameful in your eyes and yet they are not shameful in the eyes and lives of others. They are things you have fought to overcome but because you failed you started tolerating and accepting them as part of you but they are not. Shame should never be part of you. “Then the eyes of the two of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they fastened fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, so the man and his wife hid and kept themselves hidden from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to Adam, and said to him, where are you? He said, I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” Genesis 3:7-10.
