VICTORY IN BATTLE

Post date: Aug 22, 2012 7:41:25 AM

Everyone is going through a battle in his or her life every day. The battle to remain useful and the battle to give in to threats and fear, the battle with health, the battle with children, the battle with finances, the battle with loneliness, the battle with indecision and the battle with confusion. Yours may be big or small, tough or easy, confusing or discouraging, challenging and not so challenging, but despite the nature of the battle and in all things, God is there to make you a conqueror not a victim. He is not a passive onlooker in your affairs. He is never absent in every situation. He is not the Lord who abides with you in good times alone, He is also there for you and with you in bad times. He is not afraid of our common enemy and our situations.

The battle we face each day does not only affect our physical body, it also affects our spiritual body and God will not fold His arms and watch us defeated in these battles in any way.

It is interesting for me to know that God is also interested in our battles in life every day. His presence is the assurance we need in every situation today. His presence takes away our difficulties. He is with us to guide, to comfort, to heal, to direct and to encourage us. Whatever your battle requires, I am convinced our Lord is there to provide.

In the book of Hebrews 4:14-16 Paul wrote how Christ Jesus feels with us in our battles; “Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has already ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession of faith in Him. For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy for our failures and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” Hebrews 4:14-16

God will not only help us in battle, He will also sustain us in victory, lift us up and off our failures and help us to overcome our weaknesses. He will give us the grace to keep moving towards the mark of abundance, the mark of joyfulness, and the mark of His peace in His presence. His help transforms, encourages, and restores lost glories.

Be courageous, be strong, be focused, your faith in Him is being tested, your hope of joy is being tested, your dreams and desires are at stake, but in all this things, God’s help will give us the victory we need and we will triumph over all of them also.

“O that they were wise and would see through this [present triumph] to their ultimate fate. How could one have chased a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had delivered them up? For their rock is not like our Rock, even our enemies themselves judge this.” Deuteronomy 32:29-31

We may be weak, but our God is strong, we may be unable but our God is able. Paul wrote: “For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
