“ISAAC, REMAIN IN GERAR”

Post date: Nov 20, 2013 5:00:23 AM

Despite all your knowledge and all that you will know hereafter, all your wisdom, vision and abilities, God has designed a place, a time and an occasion in which He will use to bless you, and I am very sure, as you follow Him, He will safely take you to that place and bless you in the time He had set. To Isaac, the place God wanted to use for him was Gerar, and yet Gerar was not in any way the place Isaac ever thought that would happen. In his thoughts, his blessings and the change he expects was in Egypt, but God said otherwise.

“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of.” Genesis 26:1-2. That was a tough word from the Lord to Isaac considering what he saw, experienced and knew in the Gerar. It is good to know that God will never ask you to do what He will use to bless your life after your full compliance to His instructions.

God’s expectation for you is that you will never go down the drain despite all the known and unknown physical, environmental and spiritual conditions that will ever come up against you in life. Beside you telling Him what you are going through and crying, He knows exactly what you are passing through right now and a sincere call in prayer and your willingness to totally comply with the instructions that will follow thereafter will completely change that situation.

A genuine prayer without a corresponding willingness to comply with God’s instructions on that subject will never yield the expected result despite the number of times you spent praying. It is good to know that there are no situations too hard for God to adequately address, none that He cannot change, give hope, victory and an everlasting joy. There is nothing that God does not completely know about you long before you realize them; nothing that will ever happen to you is hidden from His sight, from His knowledge and none will be able to successfully challenge, change any of His words, His promises and His covenant with you if you have one with Him.

Before any situation ever come near your dwelling, God had already seen them all and had made adequate provisions for you to have the expected victory, but you will have to ask Him the way out. For you to have the victory you desire, be ready to comply with His words even when those words are quite contrary to your knowledge and your expectations. Asking God for something is simple, but complying with His directives is difficult mostly when you allow your physical senses to speak to you in that situation. God’s wisdom is more accurate in producing the results you desire, and Isaac asked God what next concerning the famine, and God told him do not move from where you are now, dwell in Gerar and follow My instructions.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” James 1:5-8. That was exactly what Isaac did in the famine.

How you handle your everyday situations is important to you, to God, to the body of Christ, to your family and to your community. Isaac was convinced God will not disappoint him so he dropped his planned move to Egypt to stay where God asked him to stay and to do what God asked him to do. I know you desire a change; God is going to give you one. Decide to follow God despite what you know, what you see, and what the people are saying and doing. God will never lead you on the wrong path in life. For prayers Click here
