No. 5. God wants you to know what salvation through Christ Jesus is all about; He wants you to know what you will gain or loss in salvation now and hereafter. God wants you to know and also experience the truth about salvation and the power behind the salvation of your soul. God wants you to know the difference between salvation and the church and the importance of the two in your growth as a Christian. God wants you to know that salvation opens you to a new world, to a new reality, to new possibilities, and to a new life in all aspects of living. Salvation does not only affect your spiritual life, but it also affects your physical life and everything that concerns you now and will affect you later. Salvation is much more than we think, much more than we will want to know now and much more than anyone will tell you about. Paul writing to the Hebrews gave a vivid description of and what we stand to gain in Salvation. The scripture confirms:

“For you have not come as did the Israelites in the wilderness to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to gloom and darkness and a raging windstorm, and to the blast of a trumpet and a sound of words such that those who heard it begged that nothing more be said to them. For they could not bear the command, if even a wild animal touches the mountain, it will be stoned to death. In fact, so terrifying was the sight, that Moses said, I am filled with fear and trembling. But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels in festive gathering, and to the general assembly and assembly of the firstborn who are registered as citizens in heaven, and to God, who is Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, the redeemed in heaven who have been made perfect, bringing them to their final glory, and to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant, uniting God and man, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of mercy, a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel which cried out for vengeance.” Hebrews 12:18-24

The scripture confirms that church attendance and affiliation is not salvation but they are very necessary as one of God’s plans to grow and stabilize our faith in Christ Jesus after the salvation of our souls. Salvation is only through Christ Jesus and nothing or no one else and not through any other person or means. It is a gift from God after one had accepted his or her sins, confessed and renounced them with a pledge not to continue in them again and inviting Jesus Christ into his or her life to dwell and accepting Him as his or her savior. He wants us to know that without truly acknowledging our sins, without a determined decision to turn away from such and all other sins, without the power of Jesus Christ working in the hearts of men, there will never be any salvation despite church attendance and affiliations. Salvation is a gift that comes with power to turn all those who will truly accept Jesus Christ as their only Lord and savior around for good. It is good to note that without salvation through Jesus Christ, all humanity will be lost irrespective of knowledge and everything else that can and will be done. Salvation is the deliverance from all forms of secret and open sins, deliverance from all powers that enables and encourages sin, all wicked cravings to continue in sin, all guilt of sins, and all the consequences of sin, and it is only made possible through knowing, believing, and accepting Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Savior. It is God delivering and preserving you through faith in Jesus Christ from harm, ruin, or loss.

Salvation brings one into a new company thereby enjoying the company of heavenly beings and bliss. Salvation is a translation from living the past and suffering the past into living what is now and achieving what will be better, through salvation, you have come to the heavenly Jerusalem on earth to be protected and kept safe and alive, not to a place that can be touched by the wickedness of Satan or men. Salvation brings you to the heavenly throne of grace to enjoy God’s forgiveness and mercies and to live the rest of your life glorifying God and having a new experience that will be quite different from what it was before.
