“It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Because David was anointed by God through Samuel to be king in Israel, he did not take up arms to take Saul out so he could become the king, God did that for him in an amazing way. What the Almighty God had said and anointed you for in this very life will definitely come to pass in its time irrespective of the numbers oppositions, the resistance groups and the prevailing situation at that time of its scheduled fulfillment. Nothing will be taken from it and nothing will be added to it, as God said it, so will it be. Did you know that every word God had spoken concerning you now and in the future are still alive and active waiting for its time? Did you believe that God will make a way for you to be what He had said without you fighting against men to be what He had said even when they fight against you? Our God is strong and He is well able to your own as he did for David. David did not contest for the post, did not campaign to be selected and did not seek the recommendation or recognition of men. God did all that for him.

To be chosen, God sent for him to be brought from the forest where he had been isolated and anointed him in the presence of his parents and family members with a word of elevation. “Then Samuel said to Jesse, are all your sons here? Jesse replied there is still one left, the youngest; he is tending the sheep. Samuel said to Jesse, send word and bring him; because we will not sit down to eat the sacrificial meal until he comes here” 1 Samuel 16:11. God located him where he had been abandoned and made him to be brought before Samuel. Did you know nothing can hide you from God’s presence and nothing can stop what God has for you? He will locate you for His glory and do the amazing things He had destined for your life.

To be recognized, accepted, and approved by the people, God took him to the battlefield to face Goliath. I want you to know God will not expose you to what will defeat you; He will not give you to the hands of your enemies and He will not allow adverse situations to destroy you. He will preserve you until you are fulfilled according to His plans. Before Goliath, David did not fail and God did not abandon him. You will not fight an empty battle, but you will fight the battle that God in His love had scheduled to use to advance you before men, that was the battle that David fought against Goliath. It was a fight that will make the people accept and talk good of him. “As they were coming home, when David returned from killing the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing, and dancing, to meet King Saul with tambourines, songs of joy, and musical instruments. The women sang as they played and danced, saying, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. Then Saul became very angry, for this saying displeased him; and he said, they have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me, they have ascribed only thousands. Now, what more can he have but the kingdom? 1 Samuel 18:6-8

To understand the rudiment of leadership and the rule of the king, God sent David to serve under Saul and understudy the acts of governance. “So Saul told his servants, find me a man who plays well and bring him to me. One of the young men said, behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the who is a skillful musician, a brave competent man, a warrior, discerning, prudent, eloquent in speech, and handsome; and the Lord is with him. So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, send me David your son, who is with the flock. Then David came to Saul and attended him. Saul loved him greatly and later David became his armor bearer. Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Please let David be my attendant, for he has found favor in my sight.” 1 Samuel 16:17-19, 22. The steps of David were ordered by God, his ways were made possible by God, the doors were open for him by God, the anointing, the recognition, and the acceptances were are made possible by God’s amazing grace and that same God will make yours also.
