Fear can destroy your present-day fortune and your future; it can destroy your best opportunities or prevent it entirely; it can make you live the life you never intended and it can rob you of your joy and peace for a long time. The effects of fear are far-reaching and dangerous; it is a powerful tool in the hands of Satan to keep you backward, keep you confused on what to expect, useless on which side to follow, angry because things are not moving despite your years of preparation, and it can keep you slavery the rest of your life and beyond your dreams. If we do not act against the spirit of fear in our lives, we will never overcome its effect and it will consume us, frustrate our very best efforts in all things, discourage our desires and weaken our mind and faith irrespective of what, who and where we are and our religious believes. Fear is a setback to good purpose and all good things in life; it is a setback to our advancement and to living a life with purpose and making an impact wherever we are and in whatever we do. God is calling us out now and we can be free from its powers and embrace grace and faith to make progress.

Did you know in 1 Samuel 13:8-14 that it was fear that made King Saul to loss his reign as King over Israel? Fear of the invading enemy army made him offer a sacrifice to God against his assigned duty as a king. He offended God by his actions and disobeys the instructions given to him by Samuel. Fear will keep you back from reaching your set goals, it will take you off the plans of your heart and the plans of God, it will force you to do what is wrong and it will rub you of God’s place, God’s promises and God’s privileges. Fear is causing Christians to continue in sin against God’s words and therefore hinder God’s plans for their lives. Fear is making many people continue in illegal unions, and unholy relationships which they know is wrong but accept and still continue in; fear is making many people continue is evil deeds and in actions that do not promote the ways and intents of God on earth. Fear is making a lot of people to be suspicious and envious of others; it is making many people become wicked and destructive beyond what they were known for before and beyond the imaginations of others. Fear is Satan’s weapon of weakness and wickedness against aspiring Christians and all humanity in general.

Fear made the children of Israel to prefer slavery in Egypt rather than freedom in the land that God in His love had promised because of what they saw in the wilderness before the Red Sea was patted for their passage. They revolted against God and against Moses and wanted to go back voluntarily en-mass instead of still trusting God in that very moment. How many of us are doing the same today while following God and experiencing the unthinkable situations? All of us should know that despite the difficulties we suffer in believing, trusting, and following God, He will not fail us, He will finish what He had begun in our lives and He will restore our joy. We see in Exodus 14:10-14. “As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were very frightened; so the Israelites cried out to the Lord. Then they said to Moses, is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Did we not say to you in Egypt leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians as slaves than to die in the wilderness. Then Moses said to the people, do not be afraid take your stand, be firm and confident and undismayed and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for those Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you while you only need to keep silent and remain calm.” Fear is wicked, cruel and frightening in all senses, and it is one of the worst things that will ever happen to anyone. It does not respect your position, location, gender, age, color, language, or profession. For prayers Click here
