THIS HAD BEEN TOO LONG DEAR LORD

There are things that have lasted longer than expected in your life but God has not forgotten you; there are things you have too long for and yet they are yet to be seen, received, or celebrated, you have prayed, waited, dreamed, and asked yet there are not there but God has not forgotten that you have such needs. “Your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him” Matthew 6:8. He does not only know that you have such needs, but He also knows what you have done to get them; He knows how long you have prayed, trusted, and waited; He knows your pains, insults received, humiliations, and loneliness you have experienced as a direct result of not having those things. But He will not deny you all what He had promised, you have them by His grace because He still loves you and had prepared a table before you even in the presence of your enemies and He will enable you to have what He had prepared for you as He did for David.

Science cannot explain it and people cannot believe his survival, but it happened, the scriptures proved it to be true. Though Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of a fish, God in His love and power brought him out to the place He wanted him to be with life. Those three days and three nights without light, food, and air to breathe were too long for Jonah, but by God’s power, he survived it; those three days and three night were filled with darkness and all kinds of wondering thoughts and imaginations in his heart, but Jonah could not free himself but he prayed from his heart and God heard his prayers and delivered him. “Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from inside the fish; In my great trouble, I cried to the Lord and He answered me; from the depths of death I called, and Lord, you heard me. You threw me into the ocean depths; I sank down into the floods of waters and was covered by your wild and stormy waves. Then I said, O Lord, you have rejected me and cast me away. How shall I ever again see your holy Temple? I sank beneath the waves, and death was very near. The waters closed above me; the seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains that rise from the ocean floor. I was locked out of life and imprisoned in the land of death. But, O Lord my God, you have snatched me from the yawning jaws of death. When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the Lord. And my earnest prayer went to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods have turned their backs on all the mercies waiting for them from the Lord. I will never worship anyone but you. For how can I thank you enough for all you have done? I will surely fulfill my promises. For my deliverance comes from the Lord alone. And the Lord ordered the fish to spit up Jonah on the beach, and it did.” Jonah 2:1-10

Trusting the Lord Jesus Christ is demanded by God for forgiveness, salvation, and a relationship of good standing with God the Father. After forgiveness and salvation, waiting, praying, seeking His blessings, and His face in situations and moments of trial and humiliations, depending on and believing Him for specific pressings needs in life can sometimes be very frustrating, painful mostly when such period of waiting becomes too long and all hope starts fading out while the enemies are celebrating and waiting to celebrate our failure. When Job was faced with such a situation he exclaimed with all certainty, “I know my redeemer lives.” Job 19:25 Would you do the same right now and settle the issue in your heart that your redeemer is alive even when the hardship is persisting? You have known fear; you have known poverty and lack; you have known humiliations; you are very familiar with loneliness; you have known how failure and insults, and disappointment feels; you are familiar with how family, marriage, and professional rejection is; you have known homelessness; you have experienced losses and dept; you are familiar with abuse and provocation, yet in all these things, our Lord knows how you feel, how much, and how long you have suffered them, He will give you what He had promised, and take away the long period of waiting and hoping.
