YOU MUST NOT PRAY IN VAIN AGAIN

Solomon did not pray in vain when he requested wisdom, God answered him immediately and everyone saw its manifestation. Jabez did not pray to God in vain, God granted his request and it was seen by all even by his parents. Job did not wait on God in vain, God restored him and blessed him seven times much more than before and everyone saw his restoration. Jesus Christ our Lord did not pray in vain on the cross, He was raised from the grave and restored to life in heaven with all authority. Daniel did not pray in vain, he was released from prison and the lions did not succeed in killing him contrary to the expectations of the people. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not trust God in vain; God rescued them from the burning furnace and delivered them also from the powerful hands and wickedness of Nebuchadnezzar. Sarah did not conceive at her old age in vain, she gave birth to Isaac, the child God promised her. Hannah did not cry in vain when she was barren and abused, God in blessings her, gave her Samuel and seven other children. Abraham did not pray in vain for Lot, God sent His angels to removed Lot from the city before the destruction by fire came. You will not pray in vain. You should pray the right prayer.

God will not refuse, ignore or delay granting the request of right prayer. Right prayer is not being right in your own eyes, ways, thoughts, imagination, understanding of the situation, and in your subsequent activities. It is being right in and with the word and demands of God in and for that particular situation. Your own rights before God may not be right according to what He is demanding and expecting from you. In his eyes and understanding, Saul was right to offer a sacrifice to God at that crucial moment but in God’s sight, he was completely wrong and had to pay the penalty. What makes our prayer right is not because our thoughts, knowledge, feelings, hearts, and understanding are right, it is obedience to His word as written in the Scriptures. Saul was told after giving himself a satisfactory approval of his action; “Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to Him than in your offering the fat of rams to Him. For rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. And now because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, He has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23

Praying and waiting in vain is not God’s plan for us. He wants to remove the delay, the pains of waiting, and the suffering of hoping endlessly for His promises. And this is the way; “And if you do as I say in this letter, then you will be full of joy, and so will we. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” 1 John 1:4; John 15:11. God wants to give you the fullness of joy, not temporal or partial by not only by answering your prayers but by granting all of your request like He did for Jabez but the request must be right, not self-centered, hash to the wellbeing of others, not outside of His plans, and not outside of His words. It has to be with full submission to His will, to His plans, to His word in the Scriptures, and to all of His demands from you. It has to be with a repentant and forgiving heart, a gentle spirit of peace with evidence of Godly love and grace. We read; “I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” Psalm 66:17-18. Sin is a repellant of God’s blessings and consistent sin is a blocker to all good things from heaven including answers to our prayers. It is certain that God will not grant the request of a sinner except it is preceded with repentance offered through Christ Jesus. Right prayer before God begins with a deep search of our ways, our hearts, and a personal decision to do away with the sins in our lives and discontinue all forms of rebellion against His word. God is not willing that your prayers be in vain. He wants to answer and grant your request right away. You will not pray vain prayers again. For prayers, Click here
