“But He said, the things that are impossible with people are possible with God. Peter said, look, we have left all things, homes, families, businesses and followed You.  And He said to them, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times as much in this present age and in the age to come, eternal life.” Luke 18:27-30. While waiting and working on your dreams, you may have lost some times or years; while seeking and preparing for a ministry, you may have lost some years; while waiting and trusting God for a spouse, you may have lost some years; while preparing and waiting for a job, you may have lost some time or years; while waiting on God for answer prayers, you may have lost some years or months, but God had promised to restore what you have lost during the period of you waited on Him, during the days you spent praying and trusting and during the days or years or months of your patience in faithfulness and followship. While the days, the months, the years and times pass by you as you trust in Him and follow Him, God will not fail to restore the times you lost and the things you lost while you were faithfully and patiently waiting and following Him.

God is not going to close His eyes on what you have lost while trusting Him, what you left behind while following Him, what you have been denied by friends, family, and colleagues while waiting on Him; He is not closing His eyes on your person and on your welfare what you should have gained; while He is interested in the best of your future, He is also interested in the recovery of those things you have lost while waiting on Him. Wasted years can be recovered and wasted times can be restored and lost things can be restored. The disciples of Jesus Christ were concerned about their lives and their future after giving up everything to follow Him and He replied them with greater promise that all they have given up, all they have lost, and all that they think was a waste will be given back to them even in this life and also gain the eternal life with Him in heaven. That was a promise to restore the things they have lost or given up following Him. God is merciful, He is compassionate, He is able, He is willing, and He will restore all that you have lost or wasted while waiting on Him for answers, for directions, for a word, and for a place. He is not unmindful of your sacrifices of love to Him, to His people, to His house, and for His services. “But, beloved, even though we speak to you in this way, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and of things that accompany salvation. For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown for His name in ministering to the needs of the saints, God’s people, as you do. And we desire for each one of you to show the same diligence all the way through so as to realize and enjoy the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be spiritually sluggish, but will instead be imitators of those who through faith, lean on God with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in His power and by patient endurance even when suffering are now inheriting the promises.” Hebrews 6:9-11

The bible is silent on the duration of Job’s suffering, but it is clear that God restored all that Job had lost during his sickness and made him even better than what he was before. “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man gave him a piece of money and an earring of gold. So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters.” Job 42:10-13. God can restore the years and times you have lost or wasted. For prayer Click here
