DEAR LORD, I HAVE CHOSEN TO BELIEVE YOU (III)

Besides some people meeting and exceeding the daily necessities for living well, having different body mass index, living in different countries and being in different locations, having different professional calls and careers, speaking different languages and dialects, and answering different names, we are all equally deficient in knowledge irrespective of our level of education; we are all deficient in power irrespective of our physical sizes and the office we occupy and the security we can afford for ourselves; we are all equally deficient in ability irrespective of our level of success and exposure in life, and we are all equally deficient in foresight despite the wisdom and insights we have in matters relating to our profession, our health, and our wealth. These deficiencies are purposely placed by God for our goods and to draw us closer to Him daily as we pursue our daily needs in life. Because of these purposeful deficiencies in our lives, we often fall, complain, cry, feel weak and vulnerable and often need and seek help. No one, irrespective of his or her wealth and office on earth is sufficient in all things and none is even sufficient in what he or she already has at hand. But there are no needs in our lives that God cannot meet; no level of deficiency that He cannot take us through successfully and no amount of lack that He cannot supply to keep us from destruction. God can preserve and He will preserve all who believe in His words and trust in His name as He did Noah throughout the period of the flood.

Because of the desire to overcome these deficiencies in our lives, we have the provision to make a choice to believe in God, trust His words, and depend on Him or follow our instincts and depend on ourselves. To overcome the power of these deficiencies, we have these words; “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:2-8. The deficiencies are not meant to destroy us or make us weak before God or before our enemies. They are there to bring us to the place we can receive grace and strength and power and wisdom to be fulfilled according to God’s plans for our lives. Do you need power? Ask from God. Do you need wisdom? Ask from God. Do you need strength? Ask from God. What is it that you need; God is able and willing to give you without rebuking you for asking it, He is always merciful and faithful, not willing anyone should perish or be destroyed. He is able to increase strength, knowledge, and power to overcome your deficiencies if you will believe in His words, in His name and follow Him.

Irrespective of what is going on in your life; irrespective of the situation and the condition and your current location, your ways are not hidden from God despite your fears and the uncertainty in your heart. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel: my way is hidden from the Lord, and my just claim is passed over by my God? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” John 1:12; Isaiah 40:27-31.
