"BUT WHO IS IN CONTROL OH LORD?"

Post date: May 2, 2017 11:54:02 PM

Everywhere we go in every nation, in every location and in every neighborhood around, there are many questions waiting for answers, yet no one is there to answer them, none is there to try and none is promising to give the needed answers. Everyone seems confused, afraid, disturbed and angry at what is going one; the entire society is held up in this unwelcomed question of who is in actual control of things; much had been done, much is undone and much more are springing up with more questions waiting for answers. Everyone is waiting with a question in their hearts and everyone’s ears are waiting for who will answer. No one is immune from these questions, none is immune from the problems of life, no profession, race, age and gender is immune from what everyone else is experiencing. Wealth, fame, and money cannot provide the answers needed and no knowledge is able to crack open the code to the solutions of life. Humanity is discovering fast that there are no safe zones anywhere and that questions are piling up everywhere waiting for answers, yet the answers are not coming as fast as expected.

It is also true that the more inventions, the more we advanced we become, the more we get and the more we generate questions for ourselves waiting for answers; it is also true that the more we earn the more we acquire and the less we earn the less we have and independent of our state and status in the society we still have lots of questions waiting for answers. Our very best had not in any way solved all of our problems permanently or given any satisfactory answer to any of our pending questions in life, and the better we become the more we have news questions to battle with without a clue to the expected answers. The questions in our hearts are increasing and the disappointments we experience are also increasing giving much more to worry about who is in control of our lives, in our lives, in our situations, and in the world. But for all Christians, hope is not lost despite these things we see, know, and also experience.

Everyone is fearful, but God says hold your peace; everyone has something disturbing in their life but God said He is in control. People are asking why the poor, the riches, and those between coexist in the same nation and neighborhood. Why do we see the good, the bad, and the evil with the same eyes? Things may look perfect and we think we have everything under control, we are steering up in the right direction, we have all things right with no sign of imperfection, we have taken adequately care and in control; or things may be very rough and tough and in everything else not working right and we may admit we have lost control of things, we have missed our way and our bearings and have no knowledge of the direction to take in life; but God is saying to us, you may think you have it in control or lost control of everything, all things that will ever happen in your life are in and under my control.

“But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend, I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, you are my servant. For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing. You will look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing. For I hold you by your right hand I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the Lord, your Redeemer. I am the Holy One of Israel. You will be a new threshing instrument with many sharp teeth. You will tear your enemies apart, making chaff of mountains. You will toss them into the air, and the wind will blow them all away; a whirlwind will scatter them. Then you will rejoice in the Lord. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 41:8-16.
